Plasma Burn Table Operator
Century Roll has an opening for a CNC Plasma Burn Operator. The Operator is responsible for machine set up including creating the 2-D cad drawing, operation and maintenance of the CNC Plasma Cutting Table, as well as supporting equipment and duties related to the operation of the Plasma Cutting work center. The preferred candidate will have the ability to identify problems and review information to develop and implement solutions. Candidate is responsible for inspection of parts and routine maintenance on equipment. Jobs vary in quantities and scope from repeat parts to small one-time runs. This requires the operator to analyze setup methods to best determine how a part can be formed. The candidate will have the opportunity to operate a Cincinnati Shear and Brake Press, as well as, using other equipment and machinery to produce parts in a metal fabrication job shop.
The preferred candidate should have a minimum of 2 years in a metal fabrication environment. Candidate must be able to read blueprints, have working knowledge of basic math and have an understanding of metal shapes and alloys. DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
- Set up plasma torch with correct consumables to match requirements laid out in provided programs.
- using blue print, create the needed part in 2-D cad software
- Identify and verify correct material as assigned by job paperwork (material type, gauge, heat lot, etc.)
- Safely load table with material using overhead cranes, forklift or other methods as necessary
- Properly set up repeatable systems such as fixtures to ensure accuracy.
- Select, align and run provided programs from shop server according to assigned jobs.
- Program basic parts such as templates at table for shop use using software built into controller.
- Monitor equipment during operation for abnormalities or malfunctions.
- Examine cut parts for cut quality and accuracy.
- Verify parts are dimensionally correct using tape measures, calipers, gauges, fixtures or other equipment as required.
- Remove burrs, slag or sharp edges from cut parts using grinders or other equipment.
- Mark/document parts as required for traceability through shop/shipment to customer.
- Replace Liquid and Pressurized gas tanks/bottles when empty.
- Maintain a clean work area.
- Maintain equipment as required per maintenance procedures or as instructed.
- Correctly document jobs as required, including verification signoffs, process issues, process suggestions, quality documentation, etc.
- Identify problematic/inefficient processes and suggest solutions or alternatives to shop manager/CNC programmer.

Pay: $14.00 - $17.00 per hour
