What are the responsibilities and job description for the Technical Manager position at Ceramic Industrial Coatings?
In the role of Technical Manager, you will be responsible for managing a team of R&D, Plant Support Chemists, and Quality Control Technicians. Responsible for managing all technical activities including product development, product improvements, formulation management, regulatory and material selections.
Principal Responsibilities
· Lead technical scale-up activities to ensure successful commercialization of new technologies for existing and new customers within the Wood Coatings business. Manage technical aspects of scale-up of new products within the Contract Manufacturing business within customer specifications.
· Provide support in color matching and production activities, including color matching software and dispensing equipment.
· Provide leadership and participation with continuous improvement initiatives in all site programs including Safety, Operations, Supply Chain, and Quality.
· Ensures ISO system documentation of processes are established, implemented and maintained as it relates to laboratory, quality and technical functions.
· Interact with Sales and Customers on product selection and product enhancements. Provide technical support to operations group as needed.
· Manage company regulatory compliance aspects of current and future products.
· Participate in 6S and Safety programs as directed.
· Participate on Company Leadership team and guide future strategy plans specific to future technologies and product lines.

Qualifications
· BS Chemistry or related science degree.
· 10 years of experience in coatings / chemical manufacturing industry.
· Experience in formulation and commercialization of new technologies.
· Experience in WB Wood Coatings Formulation
· Self-starter with proven ability to multi-task in a fast-paced environment.
· Entrepreneurial, can-do, problem solver and proactive and innovative mind set.
· Enthusiasm for learning, leading and growing technology that wins new customers.
· Proven experience in effective quality control practices.
· Excellent organizational and communication skills.

Pay: $110,000.00 - $140,000.00 per year
