Overview
The Technical Analyst will be responsible for supporting existing technology solutions and assisting with ongoing technology initiatives within the Investment Accounting and Corporate Action business teams. The Technical Analyst will be responsible for supporting existing technology solutions and assisting with ongoing technology initiatives within the Investment Accounting and Corporate Action business teams. The best candidate will have a strong foundation in business requirements, data analysis, SDLC, and the asset/investment management industry.
Key Responsibilities Include
- Act as Product Owner for one or more internal investment accounting tools and represent these tools to internal and external users and stakeholders.
- Facilitate technology projects from start to finish, including gathering/documenting requirements, communicating with development team, and may assist with testing, implementation, and ongoing maintenance.
- Manage backlog of business team’s requirements and facilitate prioritization and development.
- Develop a detailed understanding of the Investment Accounting/Corporate Action workflows and current technology solutions that support investment management operations.
- Partner with the data team in evaluating processes, anticipating requirements, and identifying opportunities for application or workflow enhancements.
- Perform detailed data analysis and testing if necessary.
- Work closely with IT Department, on/offshore teams and 3rd party vendors, to support software applications and initiatives.
- Minimum 5 years of experience on project teams in the financial services industry, ideally within a buy side organization
- 5 years of experience with hands on business analysis, requirements gathering and documentation
- 3 years of experience on the Eagle PACE and Eagle STAR
- Understanding of accounting data and how it relates to investment management, trading, performance, compliance and regulatory functions
- Knowledge of Corporate Actions and processing
- Understanding of financial instruments and pricing
- 4-year college degree or equivalent work experience
- Experience with Eagle SRM platform is a plus
- Experience working with State Street reporting platforms is a plus--MyStateStreet reports, RKS, Alpha data platform, Crims IBOR
- Experience supporting production operations, issue triage and resolution a plus.
- Proficient in data analytics and SQL
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills
- Experienced project management skills
- Excellent interpersonal and oral/written communication skills
- Ability to work effectively in a team-oriented environment
