The VP Corporate Controller is responsible for external and internal accounting and financial reporting. Specific responsibilities include external financial reporting (quarterly unaudited financial statements and annual audited financial statements), coordinating all audits, partnering with FP&A on issuing internal reporting packages, process owner of the monthly close process, and leading the billing, revenue recognition, collections, and general accounting functions. The VP Corporate Controller will direct the team that creates and implements policies and procedures to ensure accurate, timely and insightful information is provided to management and shareholders. The VP Corporate Controller is also expected to be a leader throughout the organization in maintaining solid internal controls and driving accountability throughout the organization.

Duties and Responsibilities:
  • Monthly Accounting Close Process - Develop and improve processes throughout the accounting department to improve efficiency, quality, and cycle time.
  • Monthly Financial Reporting Package – Partner with FP&A, to upgrade the Company’s financial reporting package to deliver timely, accurate and insightful information to the Management Team.
  • Board Reporting – Partner with FP&A to provide financial information and analysis to private equity sponsor and independent board members.
  • External Reporting – Issue accurate and timely quarterly unaudited financial statements and the annual audited financial statements, including compliance reporting under the credit agreement and any other financial reporting to external parties.
  • Audits - Under the direction of the CFO, coordinate and lead the annual financial statement audit and any other regulatory compliance audits.
  • Internal Controls - Maintaining strong accounting and control processes that: (a) provide assurance that financial reporting is accurate, timely and useful; and (2) support management’s efforts to safeguard assets and maintain strong accountabilities throughout the Company.
  • General Accounting – Maintaining strong controls over journal entries, account reconciliations, corporate consolidation, and analysis of changes in account balances in order to underpin accurate and timely financial reporting.
  • Billing/AR/Revenue Recognition/Collections – Responsible for the Company’s revenue cycle including accurate and timely billings, effective coordination with customer service, strong controls over revenue recognition, credit, collections and Accounts Receivable reporting.
  • Tax – Assist CFO with pass-through income tax compliance and tax distributions.
  • Continuous process improvement – Lead and collaborate with other departments to drive process improvements focused on optimizing the financial close process.
  • Upgrade the Accounting Infrastructure – Implement a new accounting structure which provides for a consolidation of legal entities in the U.S. and the use of profit and cost centers to provide more useful information below the consolidation level and improve accountability throughout the organization.

  • Outstanding Leader – Can build, develop, and lead the accounting function with the ability to prioritize key initiatives, effectively delegate and develop team-members, prioritize around key initiatives and multi-task, as necessary.
  • Excellent Technical Accounting Skill – High level of experience and background in external and internal accounting and reporting with the ability to generate financial statements in accordance with Generally Accepted Accounting Principles, research complex accounting issues and partner effectively with external audit and assurance
  • Tech Savvy - Advanced knowledge in the use of MS Office Suite, accounting software tools (e.g., Blackline), and analytical and reporting tools.
 
Educational Background and Experience Required:
 
  • Bachelor’s and/or master’s degree in business with an emphasis in accounting
  • 10 years of accounting-related experience with:
  • 3-5 years of public accounting/large company technical accounting or equivalent experience
  • 3 Years of Controllership experience or managing an accounting function reporting to the Controller.
  • C.P.A. Required
