Project Estimator/Project Manager

Job Overview
We are seeking a detail-oriented and experienced Project Estimator to join our team. The ideal candidate will possess strong analytical skills and a comprehensive understanding of construction processes. This role is crucial for ensuring accurate project cost estimations, which will aid in effective project management and execution. The Project Estimator will work closely with project managers, contractors, and clients to deliver precise estimates that align with project goals.

Duties

• Prepare detailed cost estimates for construction projects, including labor, materials, and overhead costs.
• Analyze blueprints and other documentation to prepare time, cost, materials, and labor estimates.
• Collaborate with project managers to develop budgets and timelines for projects.
• Utilize software such as Bluebeam and HeavyBid for estimating and project management tasks.
• Negotiate prices with subcontractors and suppliers to ensure competitive bids.
• Monitor costs throughout the project lifecycle to maintain budget control.
• Conduct site visits to assess conditions and gather information necessary for accurate estimations.
• Maintain organized records of estimates, contracts, and correspondence related to projects.

Requirements

• Proven experience in construction estimating or a related field.
• Strong knowledge of construction management principles and practices.
• Familiarity with cost control measures and techniques.
• Proficient in using estimating software such as HeavyBid or similar tools.
• Excellent negotiation skills with the ability to communicate effectively with various stakeholders.
• Strong analytical skills with attention to detail in reviewing contracts and specifications.
• Ability to work collaboratively within a team environment while managing multiple projects simultaneously.
• Experience working on construction sites is preferred but not mandatory.
