Job Description Summary:
The Lab Technician engages in every aspect of the Quality Control laboratory work duties determined by production needs. Overtime and weekend work may be necessary in the performance of this job.
Duties and Responsibilities:
- Execute and coordinate tasks related to Diet Preparation and Dispensing; Adult Room; Insect Preparation and Neonate infesting; Harvesting; Bioassay; Mouse Toxicity; Physical Testing on materials in compliance with department efficiency standards and timelines.
- Maintains equipment and adheres to cleanliness & organization expectations.
- Assure all paperwork is filled out properly and handed in on a timely basis.
- Provide on the job training to lab technicians & agency employees as directed.
- Supports and participates in Wasco Manufacturing International Organization of Standards (ISO) program.
- Actively participate in safety program via following safety process standards, PPE requirements and committee involvement.
- Execute all rules, regulations, and procedures of company and adhere to applicable federal, state, and local laws. They shall perform all duties as needed to meet the needs of Certis Biologicals, Wasco.
- Performs all other duties as assigned.
Work Environment:
Time spent is divided between laboratory, office and production areas as tasks require. Regular lifting of up to 25 pounds and occasional lifting up to 50 pounds via a team lift handling method.
Education/Experience:
- High School diploma or equivalent
- Ability to communicate effectively in English (speak, read, and write)
- Mathematic proficiency; Detail-oriented with high degree of accuracy.
- 3 years of laboratory experience preferred.
