Job Summary
We are seeking a detail-oriented and organized Accounts Payable Clerk to join our finance team. The ideal candidate will be responsible for managing the accounts payable process, ensuring timely and accurate payments to vendors, and maintaining financial records. This role requires strong analytical skills, attention to detail, and proficiency in accounting software.
Responsibilities
- Process and review invoices for accuracy and compliance with company policies.
- Ensure timely payment of invoices while maintaining accurate records of transactions.
- Reconcile vendor statements and resolve discrepancies in a timely manner.
- Assist in the preparation of financial reports related to accounts payable activities.
- Maintain the general ledger accounting for accounts payable transactions.
- Utilize accounting software such as Sage and Paychex for data entry and record keeping.
- Perform 10 key typing tasks accurately to facilitate data entry processes.
- Support benefits administration by processing related invoices as needed.
- Ensure compliance with SOX regulations in all accounts payable activities.
Qualifications
- Proven experience as an Accounts Payable Clerk or similar role is preferred.
- Strong knowledge of general ledger accounting principles and practices.
- Proficiency in accounting software (experience with Sage and Paychex is a plus).
- Excellent data entry skills with a focus on accuracy and attention to detail.
- Ability to work independently as well as part of a team in a fast-paced environment.
- Strong organizational skills with the ability to prioritize tasks effectively.
- Familiarity with benefits administration processes is an advantage.
