Shelter Intake Specialist- Part Time

This is a part time position- 4pm-midnight-various days of the week

Job Overview
The Intake Specialist plays a crucial role in the initial assessment and processing of clients seeking services. This position requires strong communication skills and the ability to manage sensitive information efficiently. The Intake Specialist will be responsible for gathering essential data, ensuring proper documentation, and providing a welcoming environment for clients. Duties
- Conduct initial assessments of clients to determine their needs and eligibility for services.
- Perform data entry accurately into the client management system.
- Maintain organized files and documentation in compliance with regulatory standards, including LIHTC (Low-Income Housing Tax Credit) requirements.
- Collect and analyze data related to client intake processes.
- Communicate effectively with clients, providing clear information regarding available services and resources.
- Supervise intake processes to ensure adherence to established protocols and standards.
- Manage conflicts that may arise during the intake process with professionalism and sensitivity.
- Implement behavior management strategies when necessary to support clients during their visit.

Skills
- Strong supervisory skills to oversee intake operations effectively.
- Proficient in data entry with attention to detail to maintain accurate records.
- Knowledge of LIHTC regulations is preferred but not mandatory.
- Experience in file management and organization of sensitive documents.
- Background in childcare or related fields is a plus, enhancing understanding of client needs.
- Excellent conflict management skills to handle challenging situations calmly and effectively.
- Relevant certifications in social services or related fields are advantageous.
- Ability to communicate clearly and empathetically with diverse populations.
- Competence in behavior management techniques to support clients appropriately.
