Job Description

The Senior Accountant for Financial Reporting will support the Financial Reporting Manager and Director with preparation and filing of all external consolidated financial reports and four broker-dealer financial reports, liaising with external auditors, and ensuring compliance with U.S. GAAP and SEC reporting requirements and internal controls over financial reporting. The Senior Accountant will also assist the Financial Reporting Manager and Director providing accounting assistance for special projects such as mergers & acquisitions and adoption of new accounting pronouncements.

This is a hybrid role for one of our office locations : El Segundo, CA; LA Metro Area

What you will do :

Support preparation and filing of all external consolidated financial reports and four broker-dealer financial reports.
Communicate, coordinate, and review supporting information submitted by various business functions for the preparation and completion of accurate financial reports and disclosures included in financial reports.
Support providing strategic analysis of financial data and ad hoc financial reporting.
Provide technical accounting assistance as needed on areas such as research and drafting memorandums that document research in a clear, logical, and comprehensive manner.
Support the annual financial statement audit, including working with external auditors to ensure financial statement audits are completed timely.
Support the Controllership on any ad hoc projects and requests as determined by management.
Assist in evaluating new and complex transactions and other M&A activities to understand impact on accounting and ongoing financial reporting requirements.

What you need to have :

BA / BS degree in Accounting or related field and extensive knowledge of GAAP accounting principles.

Big Four accounting firm experience preferred.

2-3 years of progressive accounting experience preferred.

Demonstrate ability to perform multiple projects and thrive in a fast-paced environment.

Excellent time management, prioritization, and communication skills.

Strong analytical, critical-thinking, and problem-solving skills.

Highly motivated and driven with ability to work independently as well as part of a team.

Willing to work overtime to finish required tasks and meet deadlines.

Proficient in Microsoft Office, including Word and advanced proficiency in Excel.

Experience with Oracle General Ledger software or equivalent accounting software a plus, but not required.

CPA license a plus, but not required.

Compensation :

The base annual salary range for this role is $85k to $110k, plus an incentive-based bonus. Base annual salary depends on a wide array of factors, including but not limited to skill set, years and depth of experience, certifications, and location. Base annual salary may also differ significantly due to geography and cost of labor considerations.
