Job Summary:
Ceva Logistics is seeking a highly skilled Ocean Export Agent to manage the flow of air/ocean traffic moving to overseas destinations. The ideal candidate will have excellent communication and organizational skills.
Responsibilities:
- Manage the movement of air/ocean traffic to overseas destinations.
- Open files on dedicated software systems for each shipment.
- Co-ordinate the shipping of freight, preparation of documentation and waybilling, assessment of charges, and collection of fees for shipments.
- Facilitate communication between domestic and foreign customers to resolve problems and arrive at mutually beneficial agreements.
- Verify that invoices and shipping manifests comply with tariff and customs regulations.
- Produce reports of transactions to facilitate billing of shippers and foreign customers.
- Verify the accuracy of documents such as invoices, bills of lading, and shipping statements in relation to the conversion of merchandise weights or volumes into the system used by other countries.
- Convert foreign currency figures into US monetary equivalents or domestic currency into foreign equivalents.
- Maintain regular contact with the foreign network.
- Guarantee accurate records of transactions are maintained.
- Organise workload to meet deadlines.
- Rectify errors and exceptions as directed by supervisor.
- Notify air/ocean export manager of any serious difficulties.
- Prepare quotations subject to approval by immediate supervisor.
- Carry out other duties as assigned.
Qualifications:
- High school diploma or general education degree (GED).
- 6 months related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience.
