What are the responsibilities and job description for the IT Support Specialist II position at CFD Research Corporation?
CFD Research is seeking an experience IT Support Specialist II to join our Operations team. In this role you will:
• Provide courteous and professional support to users and internal stakeholders
• Coordinate set up of computing resources and installation of required software
• Mentor junior members of the team as needed
• Efficient, timely, and effective response to internal user requests for support/troubleshooting while adhering to internal operating procedures
• Maintain smooth operation of multi-user/multi-platform computer systems for desktops and server environments
• Monitor and manage system resources, (e.g., CPU usage, disk usage, and response times) to maintain operating efficiency
• Perform systems security administration functions, including creating user profiles and accounts and other tasks as needed
• Other duties may include maintaining system documentation, tuning system performance and allocating mass storage
Location: This role is based in the Huntsville, AL area, and is 100% onsite.
Basic Qualifications:
• Candidate must be a US Citizen
• Must be able to acquire and maintain a security clearance
• Position requires at least a Bachelors Degree (or equivalent) and 5 years of experience in Network Administration, PC Support and/or Help Desk environment
• Knowledge of Windows operating systems, Hyper-V, Microsoft 365 Suite, Windows Domain architecture, Information Technology Security, Firewalls, and effective knowledge of both wired and wireless Local Area Network technologies. Linux experience is a plus.
• Candidate must be able to demonstrate an ability to troubleshoot computer workstations and servers, basic application and networking issues in small/medium business environments.
• Experience with support of varied Microsoft and network environments.
Preferred Qualifications:
• Experience in implementation and maintenance of CMMC guidelines strongly preferred.
• Experience with basic support of Linux in a production environment.
• Experience in a small business environment is a plus.
