What are the responsibilities and job description for the Microsoft Server Administrator position at CFD Research Corporation?
CFD Research is looking to hire a Microsoft Server Administrator to join our team in Huntsville, AL! This individual should be able to handle the following duties and responsibilities:
- Install, configure, maintain, and troubleshoot Windows Server (2019, 2022) environments.
- Manage Microsoft 365 GCC High/Azure Government Cloud infrastructure, including security and compliance controls.
- Implement and manage Single Sign-On (SSO) and identity federation solutions, ensuring seamless and secure authentication across Azure AD, Microsoft 365 GCC High, and hybrid environments.
- Configure and maintain federated identity solutions, including Active Directory Federation Services (AD FS), Azure AD
- Connect, and SAML/OAuth-based authentication for secure access control.
- Manage Active Directory, Group Policy, DNS, DHCP, and user access controls.
- Perform server patching, updates, and security hardening to maintain system integrity.
- Monitor system performance, identify issues, and optimize server resources.
- Implement backup, disaster recovery, and failover strategies to minimize downtime.
- Manage virtualization environments using Hyper-V.
- Work with networking teams to configure firewalls, VPNs, and load balancing.
- Document processes, configurations, and troubleshooting procedures for reference.
- Collaborate with IT support teams to resolve escalated server-related issues.
Basic Requirements:
- Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or related field (or equivalent experience).
- 3 years of experience as a Windows Server Administrator or similar role.
- Strong knowledge of Windows Server administration, networking protocols, and IT security best practices.
- Strong knowledge of Active Directory, Group Policy, PKI, and PowerShell scripting.
- Experience with SSO solutions and identity federation within GCC High environments, including Azure AD B2B/B2C, AD FS, SAML, OAuth, and Conditional Access policies.
- Experience with M365 Exchange, Entra, Compliance, Security, and Intune admin centers
- Familiarity with server monitoring tools and performance tuning.
- Excellent problem-solving skills and ability to work in a team environment.
- Candidate must be a U.S. Citizen and possess the ability ti obtain and maintain a security clearance.
Preferred Requirements:
- Certifications such as Microsoft Certified: Azure Administrator Associate, MCSA, or MCSE
- Cybersecurity Certification such as Security
Location: This role is based in the Huntsville, AL area, and is 100% onsite.
