Microsoft Server Administrator

CFD Research is looking to hire a Microsoft Server Administrator to join our team in Huntsville, AL! This individual should be able to handle the following duties and responsibilities:

• Install, configure, maintain, and troubleshoot Windows Server (2019, 2022) environments.
• Manage Microsoft 365 GCC High/Azure Government Cloud infrastructure, including security and compliance controls.
• Implement and manage Single Sign-On (SSO) and identity federation solutions, ensuring seamless and secure authentication across Azure AD, Microsoft 365 GCC High, and hybrid environments.
• Configure and maintain federated identity solutions, including Active Directory Federation Services (AD FS), Azure AD
• Connect, and SAML/OAuth-based authentication for secure access control.
• Manage Active Directory, Group Policy, DNS, DHCP, and user access controls.
• Perform server patching, updates, and security hardening to maintain system integrity.
• Monitor system performance, identify issues, and optimize server resources.
• Implement backup, disaster recovery, and failover strategies to minimize downtime.
• Manage virtualization environments using Hyper-V.
• Work with networking teams to configure firewalls, VPNs, and load balancing.
• Document processes, configurations, and troubleshooting procedures for reference.
• Collaborate with IT support teams to resolve escalated server-related issues.

Basic Requirements:

• Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or related field (or equivalent experience).
• 3 years of experience as a Windows Server Administrator or similar role.
• Strong knowledge of Windows Server administration, networking protocols, and IT security best practices.
• Strong knowledge of Active Directory, Group Policy, PKI, and PowerShell scripting.
• Experience with SSO solutions and identity federation within GCC High environments, including Azure AD B2B/B2C, AD FS, SAML, OAuth, and Conditional Access policies.
• Experience with M365 Exchange, Entra, Compliance, Security, and Intune admin centers
• Familiarity with server monitoring tools and performance tuning.
• Excellent problem-solving skills and ability to work in a team environment.
• Candidate must be a U.S. Citizen and possess the ability ti obtain and maintain a security clearance.

Preferred Requirements:

• Certifications such as Microsoft Certified: Azure Administrator Associate, MCSA, or MCSE
• Cybersecurity Certification such as Security

Location: This role is based in the Huntsville, AL area, and is 100% onsite.
