What are the responsibilities and job description for the Senior Accountant position at CFD Research Corporation?
CFD Research is looking for a Senior Accountant to join our team!
Job Duties:
• Conduct monthly and quarterly account reconciliations to ensure accurate reporting and ledger maintenance (and supporting ledger maintenance tasks)
• Reconcile balance sheet accounts
• Support the development & enforcement of policies and procedures with a specific focus on those impacting Accounting & Finance activities
• Prepare accurate, timely financial statements in accordance with our established schedule and with input from the rest of the accounting department
• Analyze financial statements for discrepancies and other issues
• Assist in various financial and accounting audits
Basic Qualifications:
• Bachelor's Degree in Accounting (Master's Degree is a plus)
• 5 years of experience working in an accounting role
• Advanced knowledge of Excel along with good working knowledge of all other Microsoft Office applications (Word, PowerPoint, etc.)
• Strong problem solving and analytical skills
• Ability to function well in a team-oriented environment
• Candidate must be able to demonstrate strong financial, accounting, and project management skills
Desired Qualifications:
• Experience with Unanet, Concur, and ADP
• Knowledge of FAR & DFAR supplements
• Payroll processing experience
• Incurred Cost Submission
• 5 years of experience working in an accounting role for government contractor
Location: This role is based in the Huntsville, AL area, and is 100% onsite.
