What are the responsibilities and job description for the Structures Engineer position at CFD Research Corporation?
CFD Research is seeking a Structures Engineer to support the Mars Ascent Vehicle Integrated System (MAVIS) Program. The selected candidate will be responsible for developing and designing launch vehicle structures. The candidate will also provide insight to the design team regarding structural changes based on analysis results and provide support to structures team Tabletop Review / Preliminary Design Review products, contractual deliverables, Integrated Product Team meetings, and other meetings and documentation support as needed. The candidate will support development and delivery of contract deliverables related to the design subsystem's structure. This role provides a unique opportunity to contribute to the MAVIS program, one of NASA's most ambitious Mars exploration missions.
Required Experience:
- Bachelor's or Master's degree in Aerospace Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, or a related field.
- U.S. Citizenship or Permanent Residency required (ITAR & Export Control compliance).
- Experience performing mechanical engineering design and drawing revision and release tasks
- Experience using Creo (preferred) or similar CAD software
Desired Experience:
- 5 years in structures design and CAD tools
Work Schedule/Location:
- 3-4 days in the office
