Position Summary
The Operations Manager is responsible for leading and executing the strategic initiatives of the bank's deposit operations department, ensuring optimal performance, compliance, and customer satisfaction. This role involves overseeing daily operations, developing policies and procedures, and driving improvements across key functions, including ACH, wire transfers, and audit requisitions. The Manager collaborates with internal teams, ensuring adherence to banking regulations, while also providing leadership in training and mentoring staff to enhance operational efficiency and service excellence.

We offer a hybrid schedule, with 3 days in-office and 2 days remote after the initial 90-day period. Please note that the Operations department is considered essential and may require more frequent in-office presence.

The Manager collaborates with internal teams, ensuring adherence to banking regulations, while also providing leadership in training and mentoring staff to enhance operational efficiency and service excellence.
Essential Duties And Responsibilities
- Oversee and manage the daily activities of the deposit operations team, including return items, ACH processing, wire transfers, and other critical back-office functions.
- Ensure compliance with federal and state regulations, including Anti-Money Laundering (AML), Bank Secrecy Act (BSA), USA PATRIOT Act, Reg E, and Reg GG. Handles both internal and external audit request.
- Develop and implement strategies to improve operational workflows, policies, and service-level agreements.
- Lead the department's risk management efforts, ensuring all operational functions meet compliance standards, including year-end tax reporting, backup withholding, and fraud prevention.
- Collaborate with branches to deliver training when needed.
- Partner with auditors and regulatory bodies, facilitating reviews and audits as needed.
- May be involved in the management of key projects and initiatives, driving alignment with organizational goals and regulatory requirements.
- Mentor, guide, and develop team members to foster a high-performing, adaptable workforce.
- 8-10 years of relevant banking experience, with a strong focus on deposit operations.
- 5 years in a management role, with proven experience in leading and developing teams.
- Expertise in deposit products.
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, with the ability to translate strategic goals into operational improvements.
- Excellent communication skills, with the ability to collaborate across departments and with external partners.
- Comprehensive knowledge of applicable regulations and compliance requirements.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office, Fedline Advantage, Jack Henry, EFT, and other relevant banking software.
