We’re seeking a skilled professional to provide medical care in a correctional facility, where you’ll address a wide range of healthcare needs, from minor ailments to complex conditions.
What You’ll Do
- Conduct Medical Evaluations – Perform thorough assessments and document care for inmate patients in compliance with correctional health standards (NCCHC, ACA, PBNDS).
- Develop Treatment Plans – Create and implement care plans that address both physical and mental health needs, including relapse prevention strategies.
- Prescribe & Monitor Medications – Write prescriptions and manage medications in accordance with state regulations and the approved formulary.
- Collaborate with Healthcare Teams – Work closely with nursing staff, psychiatrists, psychologists, and other specialists to ensure comprehensive patient care.
- Maintain Medical Records – Accurately document medical histories, physical assessments, and discharge summaries.
- Ensure Safety & Compliance – Uphold HIPAA, PREA regulations, and infection control protocols to maintain a secure healthcare environment.
- Education: Graduate of an accredited nursing program with certification as a Nurse Practitioner.
- Licensure: Active RN license in the state, along with certification to practice as a Nurse Practitioner, DEA, CDS, and DEA-X licenses.
- Experience: At least two years of direct patient care experience as a Nurse Practitioner (preferred).
- Skills: Strong critical thinking, decision-making, and communication skills, with the ability to work both independently and as part of a team.
- Certifications: Active Basic Life Support (BLS) certification.
- Availability: Flexibility to work nights, weekends, holidays, and on-call shifts as required.
