We are seeking an IT Specialist to join our team. This position reports directly to the Director of Information Technology and is responsible for overseeing the administrative functions of the IT department, as well as managing all aspects of technical training and onboarding in collaboration with the center's IT team. The Information Technology Specialist acts as a vital liaison between the IT department and staff, ensuring smooth communication, effective training programs, and thorough documentation. By providing user-focused training, creating clear technical resources, and maintaining accurate IT records, this role plays a crucial part in enhancing the organization's technological efficiency and improving overall user satisfaction.
What You'll Do
Serve as the primary point of contact for staff IT inquiries and issues, ensuring timely responses and effective follow-ups.Communicate IT updates, system changes, and policy implementations to staff through various platforms such as Email, SharePoint, Teams, and Everbridge Communications.Collaborate with department heads to identify and address specific IT needs and challenges across the organization.Monitor helpdesk request data to ensure timely resolution of staff IT issues in accordance with established service level agreements (SLAs).Conduct IT onboarding for new staff and provide ongoing training on software applications, systems, and hardware (e.g., SharePoint, MS Office, Remote Desktop, VPN, iPads, databases, and other appliances).Create, upload, and maintain IT training resources on the Relias LMS and SharePoint, including manuals, FAQs, videos, and other educational materials.Develop and deliver tailored IT training programs for staff at all levels, focusing on system use, software functionality, and cybersecurity best practices.Maintain comprehensive and organized records of IT department activities, including incident reports, system updates, support tickets, and IT equipment inventory.Assist in the development and implementation of strategies to improve digital literacy, enhance data security practices, and drive technology adoption across the organization.Provide technical support by traveling to user locations for training, video conferencing setups, device deliveries, and other IT-related tasks, while also backing up ID badge and secure access card creation and distribution processesFull-time (40 hours per week), Monday - Friday 8 : 30am - 5 : 30pm (one-hour meal break), some evenings may be required.This position is fully onsite to start with the potential to become hybrid based on performance.Starting Salary : $22.00 - $25.00 per hour commensurate on experience.Qualifications
Minimum of 2 years of experience working with Microsoft Office applications, MS365 platform, Windows 10 / 11, and preferably Microsoft Copilot and Windows hardware, with a strong ability to train end-users individually or in groups, both in person and via video conferencing.Excellent written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to create online training resources and effectively train staff on IT tools and systems.Working knowledge of SharePoint and strong judgment skills to make sound decisions related to IT processes and training needs.Self-starter with the ability to work independently, manage deadlines effectively, and ensure accurate work under pressure while being a collaborative team player.Strong interpersonal skills with the ability to interact respectfully and professionally with others, maintain excellent attendance, and be punctual for work, meetings, and appointments.Enthusiastic commitment to supporting the department's objectives, with a clean driving record to meet insurance requirements for driving to user locations as needed.Bachelor's Degree and a minimum of 2-3 years of recent work experience preferred.
