As an Abuse and Fraud Analyst, you'll:
- Identify, analyze, and investigate potential bot activities, spamming, scraping, and other abusive behaviors on the platform.
- Label and categorize bot traffic and fraudulent accounts for further analysis.
- Write SQL queries to extract, analyze, and interpret data related to abuse and fraud patterns.
- Create comprehensive reports to inform the team and leadership about emerging threats, trends, and resolutions.
- Partner with cross-functional teams to develop and implement strategies to prevent abuse and fraud.
- Support the creation of automated tools and systems for fraud detection and mitigation.
- Assist in maintaining and improving fraud detection policies and protocols.
- Provide insights and recommendations for improving platform security based on your findings.
Requirements
- 3 years of experience in abuse/fraud analysis, bot detection, or a related field
- Intermediate proficiency in SQL for querying and analyzing large datasets
- Strong analytical and investigative skills with attention to detail
- Familiarity with concepts related to bot traffic, fake account detection, and online fraud
- Ability to create clear, actionable reports and documentation
- Strong communication and collaboration skills
Preferred Qualifications:
- Experience working in the technology or social media industry
- Familiarity with tools and systems for fraud detection and prevention
- Basic understanding of web scraping techniques and prevention
- Knowledge of growth fraud mechanisms and countermeasures
- Experience with labeling and annotating data for machine learning models
- Passion for safeguarding platforms against abuse and improving user experiences
