JOB SUMMARY:
We are seeking a strong Accounting professional (ie. former Accounting Manager/Director/Controller) who can help our client migrate their accounting data for 20 entities from various data sources including QuickBooks Enterprise, QuickBooks Online, and Great Plains to Sage. The ideal candidate will have strong accounting and GAAP experience, coupled with experience implementing ERP systems. This consultant will work closely with the client’s Sage technical IT resource to create an opening balance sheet, by mapping the Trial Balance and General Ledger into the new environment and reconciling the data to ensure the migration was successful.
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Work with client to understand their business requirements and assess their current accounting processes.
- Work with the Sage Vendor to create those Chart of Accounts in Sage by assigning them the correct account numbers using existing COAs in Sage as a reference
- Migrate data over using an opening balance sheet approach as of Jan 1 by downloading the Trial Balances record month over month change of the sub ledger balances to date.
- Create a Master Chart of Accounts to consolidate all the entities.
- Upgrade the current version of Sage.
- Help unlock additional utility out of Sage such as use of their intercompany module.
- Work closely with the client’s Sage consultant to migrate the data, and then reconcile the data in the new environment to ensure the account balances tie to the original data sources (ie. QuickBooks, Great Plains).
- Gather business reporting requirements from business stakeholders and work with client’s resources to help implement a financial reporting tool on top of Sage.
REQUIREMENTS:
- Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field.
- Minimum of 7 years experience in accounting and financial reporting
- Strong GAAP knowledge, and understanding of the balance sheet and financials
- Minimum of 5 years' experience in implementing and configuring ERP systems.
- Understands how data flows through an accounting system and has experience reconciling and auditing data.
- Strong project management skills with the ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills with the ability to work collaboratively with clients and team members.
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
- Ability to work independently with minimal supervision.
