Sub-Function Description: Performs Aluminum welding processes with TIG, MIG on light gauge 12 through 20 stainless steel and aluminum. Welds all types of commonly used metals and alloys of various sizes, shapes, and thicknesses, including metals such as copper to steel. Operates miscellaneous hand-welding, torch-cutting, or welding equipment for welding or join metal components or to fill holes, dents, or seams in fabricated metal products. Can configure, operate, and/or monitor robots that perform welding or heat treatment work on products, components, or metal assemblies.
Organizational Impact: Works to achieve day-to-day objectives with limited impact on area. Delivers level responsibilities following a defined standard output or set of procedures. Work consists of tasks that are very routine, or well-defined, with specific instructions to achieve standardized solutions. Work is closely supervised.
Position Type: Full-time, Non-Exempt
Knowledge & Experience: Requires education generally equivalent to a high school diploma with shop related courses and prior production/assembly experience. Technical school course work in welding or prior welding experience is necessary.

- Read and interpret blueprints and /or drawings and follow verbal directions to determine the specific welding requirements.
- Lays out/positions parts by using templates or reading measurements.
- Performs welding processes based on specifications from blueprints, drawings or verbal directions.
- Performs hand grinding and polishing.
- Keeps equipment operational by completing preventive maintenance requirements; following manufacturer’s instructions; troubleshooting malfunctions; calling for repairs.
- Maintains safe and clean working environment by complying with procedures, rules, and regulations.
- Conserves resources by using equipment and supplies as needed to accomplish job results.
- Documents actions by completing production and quality forms.
- Contributes to team effort by accomplishing related tasks as needed.
- Performs Daily Pre-shift Checklist.

Strong Mechanical aptitude is necessary. A solid understanding of Aluminum, TIG, and MIG welding concepts and processes is required. Must be able to read a ruler and be able to operate common hand tools, air tools, drills, sanders, grinders, etc.
