CG Schmidt is seeking a Corporate Scheduler to lead the company’s efforts to advance our scheduling practices and maintain consistency across all projects.
Position Summary:
The Corporate Scheduler is a key member of our team of builders. As Corporate Scheduler, you will be responsible for aligning project teams around key concepts and methodologies for project scheduling and all scheduling training. You will work closely with Superintendents, Project Managers, Preconstruction, and Leadership teams to refine and enforce our scheduling standards. This position will be a dynamic role that will range from the development of contract schedules, to assisting teams in maintaining their project schedule, and creating detailed analyses of schedules when looking at risk assessments and delays.
Responsibilities Include:
- Ability to train team members on scheduling strategies, logic and reasoning, scheduling best practices and the use of the scheduling software.
- Review and formalize scheduling standards, critical path requirement. risk-analysis, deliverable expectations, and corporate requirements for project schedules.
- Assist in the development of contract (baseline) CPM schedules showing milestone completion dates for major work sequences, key decision points, and critical deliverables.
- Assist teams in development of delay analysis and recovery plans.
- Assist team in documentation of delay events and delay impacts onto contract (baseline) schedule.
- Ability to check vertical alignment between the project schedule and procurement logs, lookahead schedules, submittal schedules, and permit logs.
- Review project schedules periodically to ensure that proper logic is maintained.
- Complete site walks to verify short term lookaheads and follow up with Project Team to validate the schedule.
- Act as technology administrator for scheduling platform including development of standard filters, views, print layouts, and visuals to provide a consistent deliverable on all projects.
- Lead the interactive planning and scheduling sessions (i.e. pull planning). Create 2D visual and 4D graphic schedules with support from the BIM/VDC department. (4D schedules are created for larger jobs and RFP responses).
- Develop methodologies to ensure progress tracked with production planning tools (such as Last Planner) is in alignment with the contract (baseline) schedule.
- Develop a record of historical schedule information for reference and analysis.
- Continuously expand and update professional knowledge of all scheduling software to ensure maximum efficiency and effectiveness.
- Research best practices and make recommendations on proposed improvements.
- Participate actively in the CG Schmidt Lean Committee.
