What are the responsibilities and job description for the Corporate Controller position at CGT Global?
The Corporate Controller reports to the Vice President, Finance and will have supervisory dutiesover members of the finance and accounting teams. The Corporate Controller is responsible for producing monthly reports that accurately reflect the company’s current and projected financial position, overseeing CGT Global’s financial statements, cost accounting, payroll, accounts payable, and accounts receivable. The Controller interacts with all management staff in the budgeting process and will provide the departmental reporting necessary to facilitate its management. The Controller will also be responsible for interacting with external users of financial information such as bankers, vendors, accounting firms and customers. Other duties and functions of this role include:
- Manage, lead, and motivate the accounting team.
- Manage monthly financial reporting to ensure timeliness and accuracy, meeting internal and external reporting requirements.
- Manage all analysis and compliance for taxes including Federal, State, Corporate, Sales, Use, and R&D tax credits.
- Oversee all accounts, ledgers, and reporting systems ensuring compliance with appropriate GAAP standards and regulatory requirements.
- Collaborate with cross-functional partners to resolve month end discrepancies and solve process efficiencies.
- Set up new entities, review consolidated financial statements and provide guidance to the team in all aspects of accounting.
- Ensure that proper internal controls are in place to safeguard company assets and provide timely and accurate management and financial reporting.
- Maintain payroll information within designated systems.
- Maintain proper internal accounting controls by preparing and recommending policies and procedures.
- Confirm financial status by monitoring revenue and expenses, coordinating the collection/ consolidation/evaluation of financial data, and preparing special reports.
- Manage client purchase orders through approval and reconciliation.
- Lead external audits and prepare the required reporting.
- Comply with federal, state, and local financial legal requirements by studying existing and new legislation, enforcing adherence to requirements, and advising management on needed actions.
- Maintain professional and technical knowledge by attending educational workshops, reviewing professional publications, establishing personal networks, and participating in professional societies
Minimum Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s degree in business administration, accounting, finance or related discipline
- Professional accounting certification, including CPA or CMA, preferred.
- 5 years of experience as a senior-level accounting or finance manager
- Strong project management, communication, and leadership skills
- Working knowledge of federal, state, and local tax compliance regulations and reporting
- Experience with ERP Software; Sage X3 software preferred.
- Proficiency in MS Office Suites
- Ability to multi-task and manage various project elements simultaneously.
- Meticulous attention to detail
