Corporate Controller

Job Description:

Vibe by California, a leading name in the cannabis industry, is seeking an experienced and dynamic Corporate Controller to join our team. This position will play a critical role in driving financial strategy, operational effectiveness, and organizational success. As Corporate Controller, you will not only oversee the company’s financial operations but also be deeply involved in the day-to-day operations and business strategy across all locations, ensuring alignment with organizational goals. Leadership & Team Development:

• Mentor the team and foster a culture of accountability, professional development, and continuous improvement.

Operational Involvement:

• Collaborate closely with operations teams across all locations to ensure financial processes align with business needs and operational efficiencies.
• Provide hands-on financial guidance to optimize inventory management, cost control, and revenue generation strategies in retail, distribution, and cultivation operations.
• Act as a key financial partner to management to drive data-driven decisions.

Financial Strategy & Analysis:

• Contribute to the company’s strategic direction by providing insightful financial analyses and recommendations.
• Develop and implement accounting and organizational strategies to meet company objectives and improve profitability.
• Lead the development of key operational metrics to evaluate performance and drive productivity.

Accounting & Compliance:

• Oversee daily accounting operations, ensuring the accuracy of all financial transactions and general ledger maintenance.
• Produce timely and accurate monthly, quarterly, and annual financial statements and reports.
• Manage the month-end and year-end close processes, including preparing for and overseeing annual audits and inventory counts.
• Ensure compliance with all regulatory requirements, including US GAAP & IFRS standards, tax filings, and cannabis-specific financial regulations.
• Maintain and enhance internal controls, policies, and procedures to safeguard assets and ensure operational integrity.

Budgeting & Forecasting:

• Lead the annual budgeting and forecasting processes, collaborating with all departments to ensure alignment with organizational goals.
• Provide financial projections and reports by collecting, analyzing, and consolidating data while advising departments on financial analysis methods.

Cash Flow Management:

• Monitor and manage cash flow to ensure sufficient funds are available for operational needs, growth initiatives, and long-term obligations.
• Provide recommendations to optimize financial liquidity and manage financial risk.

Continuous Improvement:

• Stay up-to-date on industry trends, financial legislation, and best practices, ensuring Vibe remains competitive and compliant.
• Implement technology-driven solutions to improve accounting processes and operational efficiencies.

Qualifications:

• Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field; CPA or other relevant accounting designation required.
• Minimum of 2 years of progressive experience in accounting, finance, and management, with at least 3 years in a leadership role.
• Expert knowledge of accounting principles, financial regulations, US GAAP & IFRS compliance.
• Experience working in operations-driven industries; real estate or cannabis industry experience is a strong asset.
• Proven ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment, with excellent organizational and problem-solving skills.
• Exceptional leadership, communication, and interpersonal skills.
• Advanced proficiency in financial systems and tools.

Pay: $88,686.00 - $105,728.00 per year
