What are the responsibilities and job description for the Regional Engineering Manager (Dry Mix) position at CH Guenther & Son LLC?
Duties and Responsibilities:
- Partner with R&D, Sales, Operations, Supply Chain, Maintenance, and Engineering, to develop strategic capital investment plans for the network of Dry Mix plants.
- Develop equipment and process standards for Dry Mix products
- Coach and develop the Engineering and Maintenance Managers in the plants to develop and execute capital projects and technical improvements.
- Support execution of capital projects for the three plants in the Kansas City area. Directly work with Maintenance teams in these plants to support smaller projects and manage larger projects.
Minimum Job Requirements:
Education/Certifications:
- BS in Engineering (Mechanical, Electrical, Chemical preferred)
- Preferred certifications in Project Management, Combustible Dust design standards
Experience:
- 10 years of experience leading capital projects and managing plant capital budgets in a high-speed manufacturing environment with progressing levels of responsibility
- Experience leading cross-functional teams to develop technical standards and project scope
- Preferred - Experience leading and executing projects in a TPM/continuous improvement environment
- Preferred - Experience in the manufacturing, processing, and engineering of dry powder food products, regulations, and equipment. Includes combustible dust
Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:
Supervisory Responsibilities:
- Work requires supervising and monitoring work performance of self, contractors, vendors, and personnel assigned to assist with specific projects, including evaluation of program/work objectives and effectiveness and realigning work and staffing assignments, as needed.
- Work requires partnering with Engineering Managers, Maintenance Managers, and Plant Managers to accomplish the objectives.
Working Conditions and Physical Effort:
- Work involves moderate exposure to unusual elements, such as dirt, dust, fumes, extreme temperatures, humidity, darkness and/or noise.
- The work environment involves moderate exposure to physical risks, such as working around mechanical, chemical, fire, and electrical hazards.
- Must have the ability to lift, carry, pull, push, and reach to perform various functions. Must be able to communicate with associates and others by utilizing professional etiquette.
- As defined by C.H. Guenther and Sons, personal protective equipment will be provided.
- Up to 30% travel is required at times to support project execution
