C.H. Thompson is currently seeking a Department Lead for our Wet Paint Department to join our dynamic team and support our production operations. As a Department Lead, you will be integral in ensuring the flow of work and materials across the Wet Paint Department in effort to maximize throughput & efficiencies in production and to achieve on time delivery goals. Position Overview
Leadership and Supervision:
- Lead and manage the Wet Paint team, ensuring they remain on task with high performance and adherence to safety and quality standards.
- Provide training and development opportunities for team members to enhance their skills and knowledge.
Operational Efficiency:
- Distribute production schedules or work orders to departments.
- Monitor production schedules to ensure job targets are met.
- Identify and implement process improvements to enhance efficiency and productivity.
- Help to keep employees on task and promote increased throughput by assisting with racking, prepping, inspecting, material handling, and by gathering proper paperwork and materials needed.
- Identify and resolve any issues or inefficiencies in the Wet Paint Process such as incorrect paperwork - communicate with engineering and the quality team on changes needed or missing documentation.
- Work closely with other departments to ensure seamless workflow and continuous improvement.
- Implement and maintain quality control procedures to ensure all products meet industry standards and customer specifications.
Process & Supply Management:
- Oversee the Wet Paint processes, ensuring they are carried out efficiently and effectively.
- Ensure all team members have the necessary supplies and tools to complete their jobs efficiently and plan ahead to ensure there are no gaps in production and/or down time.
- Monitor inventory levels and coordinate with the procurement team to replenish supplies as needed.
Work Order Management:
- Review and interpret detailed work order instructions to guide the team in accurately painting parts according to specifications.
- Ensure work orders are followed meticulously to maintain high-quality standards.
Safety:
- Maintain a clean and organized work area to promote safety and efficiency.
- Ensure adherence to all safety protocols and use of required personal protective equipment (PPE).

- Standing: The ability to stand for extended periods of time.
- Lifting: Must be able to lift up to 50 pounds.
- Mobility: The role requires the ability to bend, stoop, push, pull and reach.

Education Requirements
- High school diploma or GED Preferred
Shift Hours:
- Summer Hours: Monday - Thursday 6:30am - 3:30pm, Friday 6:30am-12:30pm
- Regular Hours - Monday - Friday 7:00am-3:30pm
Total Compensation Package:
- Wage
- $18.00 - $24.00 per hour.
- Compensation depends on the selected candidate's experience.
