C.H. Thompson is currently seeking a Part Time Production Planner to join our dynamic team and support our production operations. As a Production Planner, you will play a critical role by ensuring that all components are available for production and that products are created and delivered on time. You will operate in a fast-paced environment and work closely with various departments. Position Overview

Developing and Managing Production Schedules :

Create and maintain production schedules based on customer orders, inventory levels in order to meet customer delivery requirements and best utilize the company's productive capacity.
Coordinate with production, sales, and purchasing teams to develop and adjust schedules to ensure seamless workflow and timely delivery to the customer.
Distribute production schedules or work orders to departments.

Analyzing Production Specifications :

Analyze production processes and identify opportunities for optimization and improvement to increase efficiency and reduce costs.

Evaluate production specifications and plant capacity data to determine manufacturing processes, tools, and human resource requirements.

Arrange for delivery, assembly, or distribution of supplies or parts to expedite flow of materials and meet production schedules.

Monitoring and Reporting :

Monitor the production process, make routine production reports, and resolve any potential delays.

Update production schedules to include changes, availability of raw materials, and capacity constraints.

Resource Management :

Ensure that all necessary resources (labor, materials, machinery) are available for the production process.

Assess and identify any issues that might impact the production schedule and implement corrective actions where necessary.

Help to keep employees on task and promote increased throughput by assisting with racking, prepping, inspecting, material handling, and by gathering proper paperwork and materials needed

Communication and Optimization :

Communicate with management and other stakeholders about the status of production schedules and any potential issues that may arise.

Develop business relationships and be a strategic part of the plant leadership team.

Optimize production operations for maximum efficiency and cost-effectiveness.

Qualifications :

Production and Processing - Knowledge of raw materials, production processes, quality control, costs, and other techniques for maximizing the effective manufacture and distribution of goods.

Customer and Personal Service - Knowledge of principles and processes for providing customer and personal services. This includes customer needs assessment, meeting quality standards for services, and evaluation of customer satisfaction.

Skills & Competencies :

Attention to Detail :

Must be able to multitask while maintaining detail and accuracy.

Communication :

Clear and concise communication skills, both verbal and written, to effectively convey information and / or ideas professionally across all levels of the organization.

Ability to work effectively in a team environment.

Proven experience leading successful teams in a manufacturing or industrial environment.

Problem-Solving :

Ability to identify issues and recommend solutions.

Ability to manage multiple priorities in high-pressure environment.

Ability to independently problem-solve and apply continuous improvement of concepts.

Strong analytical skills

Technical Skills :

Strong math and computer skills, ability to use specialized testing tools and machinery.

Ability to read technical documents and blueprints.

Proficient working knowledge of Microsoft Excel and Outlook.

Physical Requirements :

Standing : The ability to stand for extended periods of time is crucial.

Lifting : Must be able to lift up to 50 pounds.

Mobility : The role requires the ability to bend, stoop, push, pull and reach.

Quality Standards :

Ensure all products and parts meet stringent quality standards.

Education Requirements

High school diploma or GED

Total Compensation Package :

Wage - This role is based in the State of New York which requires the disclosure of salary ranges. The expected salary range for this position is $18.00 - $24.00 per hour. C.H. Thompson provides salary ranges as a good faith estimate of what the company reasonably expects to pay for the position at the time of posting. Compensation offered to a selected candidate may vary based on factors such as (but not limited to) a candidate's job-related qualifications, skills, competencies, experience, and geographic location. The expected salary range for this position is subject to change and may be modified in the future.
