About the role:
We are seeking a dynamic and experienced Senior Inside Sales Manager to establish and lead our Inside Sales Organization, driving growth in the B2B commercial market through electrical wholesalers and distributors. The ideal candidate will be responsible for developing and managing inside sales strategies, implementing a CRM system, and driving measurable performance through key performance indicators (KPIs). This role requires strong cross-functional collaboration with internal and external stakeholders to enhance customer relationships, improve sales processes, and accelerate revenue growth in a dynamic environment.
This position is not an office-based position.
Key Responsibilities:
Inside Sales Leadership & Strategy
Build and lead a high-performing inside sales team focused on driving revenue through B2B channels.
Develop and implement a structured hiring process to attract, onboard, and retain top inside sales talent.
Design and execute a comprehensive talent development strategy, including ongoing training, coaching, and mentorship programs to enhance sales effectiveness.
Establish a clear sales process that includes lead qualification, prospect engagement, pipeline management, and deal closure to improve efficiency and predictability.
Define and refine sales workflows, call scripts, and email templates to ensure consistency in customer interactions and maximize conversion rates.
Implement and optimize sales enablement tools and technologies to streamline sales operations, enhance customer engagement, and improve productivity.
Foster a high-performance culture by setting clear goals, providing regular feedback, and recognizing top performers.
Develop and maintain best practices for sales forecasting, territory management, and customer segmentation to drive growth and improve market penetration.
Work closely with marketing and demand generation teams to align inside sales efforts with lead generation campaigns and promotional activities.
CRM Implementation & Performance Metrics
Lead the selection, setup, and integration of a Customer Relationship Management (CRM) system to drive efficiency, track customer interactions, and improve sales effectiveness.
Define and implement CRM best practices to ensure data accuracy, user adoption, and seamless sales reporting.
Work closely with IT and sales operations teams to customize the CRM platform based on business needs, including lead tracking, pipeline management, and automated reporting.
Train and mentor the inside sales team on effective CRM utilization to enhance productivity and ensure a data-driven sales approach.
Establish a KPI framework to measure inside sales effectiveness, including:
Lead conversion rates (prospects to customers).
Sales cycle length (time from first contact to closed deal).
Customer engagement metrics (number of touchpoints, response rates).
Revenue contribution from inside sales.
Call and email activity tracking to ensure consistent customer outreach.
Develop real-time dashboards and performance reports to provide visibility into team productivity, pipeline health, and sales trends.
Continuously analyze sales data to identify trends, forecast revenue, and refine sales strategies to drive growth.
Collaborate with marketing to integrate CRM with lead generation tools, ensuring a smooth flow of qualified leads to the sales team.
Optimize CRM workflows to automate follow-ups, lead nurturing, and reporting to improve efficiency.
Cross-Functional Collaboration & Stakeholder Engagement
Work closely with marketing, product management, customer service, and field sales teams to align sales efforts with company objectives.
Partner with distributors, wholesalers, and channel partners to create targeted sales initiatives.
Provide feedback to internal teams based on market trends, customer needs, and competitive insights.
Sales Growth & Business Development
Drive inside sales revenue growth by identifying and capitalizing on new opportunities.
Implement strategies to nurture leads, accelerate sales cycles, and enhance customer engagement.
Continuously analyze market conditions and adjust sales approaches to maintain a competitive edge.
Basic Qualifications:
Bachelor’s degree
5 years of experience in inside sales
Valid driver’s license
Preferred Qualifications:
Proven track record of leading and growing a sales organization.
Strong expertise in CRM platform implementation and management.
Experience in B2B commercial markets, particularly through electrical wholesalers and distributors.
Proven ability to develop, measure, and optimize KPIs to drive sales performance.
Demonstrated ability to work cross-functionally with internal teams and external stakeholders.
Proven leadership, communication, and analytical skills.
Experience in a dynamic, fast-paced environment, with a focus on scaling sales operations.
Travel is required, approximately 25%.
The base salary range for this role is $151,683 - $178,450. Individuals may also be eligible for an annual performance bonus based on both individual and company’s performance. The final compensation for this position will be set based on the individual’s knowledge, skills, and experience as it relates to the job requirements.
