We are seeking a compassionate and detail-oriented Foster Care Child Welfare Specialist to join our dedicated team. This role is essential in supporting children, biological families, and foster families through case management and social services to facilitate permanency.
Key Responsibilities:
- Prepare and submit court documents promptly, attend court hearings, and provide testimony as required.
- Develop comprehensive service plans, coordinate referrals, and assist clients in completing necessary tasks.
- Document all client interactions in SACWIS DCFS software, ensuring accuracy and timeliness.
- Conduct in-home and community visits to monitor the progress of biological parents and children in care, adhering to DCFS program guidelines.
- Monitor client well-being through an integrated health approach, making referrals when necessary.
- Assess safety and risk factors for children in substitute care.
- Coordinate and supervise visitation between children and their biological parents, including transportation.
- Collaborate with community service providers to arrange additional support as needed.
- Complete all required trainings through Chaddock and DCFS.
- Participate in an on-call rotation and respond appropriately to crisis situations.
Requirements:
- Education/Experience: A Bachelor’s degree is required. A degree in Human Services is preferred and highly valued. Experience in foster care or case management is beneficial.
Core Hours:
- Day shift with some evening hours required for travel and client visits.
