What are the responsibilities and job description for the Child Welfare Specialist position at Hobby Horse House?
Hobby Horse House is seeking a full time Child Welfare Service Worker to provide services to families in Carlinville and the surrounding areas who are the subject of a call or email to the State Central Register (SCR) hotline where the risk to the child is deemed low enough for short-term involvement.
Applicants should possess a bachelor's degree in social work, counseling, psychology, or another related human service field with preferably two years of experience. Responsibilities include providing supportive services and linkage to assure that families can effectively utilize their own strengths and resources to ensure the safety of their children and prevent future DCFS involvement.
Candidates should be willing to work flexible hours; you design your own schedule. Candidates must have reliable transportation, a current driver's license, automobile insurance, and ability to pass a criminal history check. This is a professional agency with a focus on children and families; this includes support and focus for your own family and well-being.
Candidates must be motivated, self-starting, have strong verbal and written communication skills, and strong organizational ability. Pay is based upon education and experience.
