What are the responsibilities and job description for the Plant Manager position at CHADRON COMMUNITY HOSPITAL?
Full-time, 30-40 hours/week and be on a rotating call schedule. Benefited position after 60-day waiting period.
Summary:
To provide daily managerial support for the plant operations department through direct supervision and assistance to all employees. Primary duties are performing, planning, scheduling and supervising maintenance, cleaning and repair work of buildings, grounds, utilities systems while maintaining an efficient and cost-effective department. This position may include plumbing, masonry, carpentry, painting, electrical work, refrigeration, air conditioning, gardening and housekeeping as well as other Support Services as required.
Job Duties:
- Direct and coordinate plant operations.
- Keep a positive and professional department work environment.
- Planning and coordinating hospital safety drills.
- Direct, coordinate and implement hospital repair and maintenance programs.
- Direct and coordinate activities of the hospital energy management systems and insure to upkeep and maintenance of them.
- Be able to understand, prepare and manage a budget.
- Maintenance knowledge required.
- General construction, painting, wall repair, limited electrical, limited plumbing, competent in room remodel, knowledge of operation and maintenance of the boilers and roof top units.
- Make quick intelligent decisions using good judgement while maintaining high quality work and cost awareness.
- Be able to make plans according to priorities, delegate duties and follow up to insure quality and expedience.
- Must work well with others, keep an open mind and be creative.
- Duties also require ability to lift heavy objects at times and requires the training and knowledge to lift properly to prevent injuries to self and others.
Qualifications:
- Ability to follow and understand verbal and written instructions.
- Must be able to lift 50 pounds, reach, pull, push, walk, stand, bend, and use arms and hands constantly and run heavy equipment.
- Must have a valid Nebraska driver's license with no restrictions and clean driving record.
