Job Title: Village Enrichment Program Instructor/Teacher

POSITION SUMMARY
Village Enrichment Programs Teachers offer a variety of classes geared toward students in Grades Kindergarten through Sixth Grade. Teacher will facilitate a class once per week during the Village Enrichment Programs offering times (One afternoon, Monday through Thursday, 3:20pm-4:20pm). Village Enrichment Teachers create a corresponding curriculum that builds on skills over the course of the program, which is generally ten class sessions.
Responsible for providing high quality teaching and instruction to participating students in the Chadwick Village Enrichment Program.
MAJOR RESPONSIBILITIES
- Plan interesting, engaging, and exciting curricular and extra-curricular activities that are sequential and have set outcomes that are achievable for all students during the length of the Enrichment Program.
- Knowledge and background in the coursework area.
- Report to the Director of Auxiliary and Innovative Programs.
- Must maintain safe work practices and follow all safety and security procedures.
- Must enjoy working with children aged 5 – 12.
- Maintain an environment of care based around the core values of Chadwick School (Responsibility, Respect, Fairness, Honesty, and Compassion).
- Strong classroom management skills.
- Run approximately ten sessions, one day per week, from 3:20pm – 4:20pm. Teacher will pick up students from a designated location and will drop students off at the parent pick-up area at the conclusion of class.
- Perform other duties as assigned

EDUCATION, EXPERIENCE AND SKILL REQUIREMENTS
Qualifications:
- Bachelor degree strongly preferred.
- Computer proficiency required.
- Experience in the subject matter essential.
- Experience of working with and teaching children is essential.
Compensation is $17/hour plus percentage of enrollment. The position will begin September 2023.
WORK ENVIRONMENT AND PHYSICAL REQUIREMENT
- Required to lift and carry up to a maximum of 25 lbs., in a correct manner consistent with the appropriate training provided by the School.
- Occasionally required to use hand to handle or feel objects, touch and use tools, reach with hands and arms, climb stairs, bend, stoop, twist, lift, reach, push, pull, grasp, balance, kneel, crouch, crawl, grasp, talk, hear, and walk during the course of employment.
- Walking and being outdoors for somewhat extended periods of time on a regular basis is part of the job as the school sits on 45 acres of land.
- Specific vision abilities required by the job include close vision, distance vision, color vision, peripheral vision, depth perception and an ability to adjust focus.
- May use telephone, computer, copier, and other office equipment in the course of a day.
- Required to sit while operating word processing equipment for up to 6-8 hours daily, repetitive motion for typing and other keystroke needs.
