Job Overview :
The Global HR Director - Policy, Culture & Compliance will be responsible for overseeing and driving the global HR strategy and operations to foster a positive, harmonious, and compliant work environment. This position will focus on ensuring that employee wellbeing, engagement, and performance are aligned with the companys values, policies, and local laws. The HR Director will lead a team, manage company-wide policies, drive employee engagement initiatives, and ensure adherence to state, federal, and global compliance requirements. This role also requires the Director to ensure that all HR-related systems, processes, and initiatives contribute to the companys culture and long-term business objectives.
A critical aspect of this role is experience working in a multicultural and international workforce, with particular emphasis on managing diverse backgrounds, cultures, and religions. Experience with Jewish culture is highly preferred.
Key Responsibilities :
Employee Wellbeing and Engagement :
- Lead employee wellbeing programs globally, ensuring a healthy, supportive work environment for all team members.
- Handle and resolve complaints and concerns, ensuring workplace harmony.
- Organize monthly lunches and biannual global team events to foster employee connection and engagement.
- Ensure that all global employees feel valued, included, and recognized for their contributions.
Employee Relations :
Serve as the main point of contact for addressing and resolving employee relations issues, ensuring workplace harmony and employee satisfaction.Provide guidance and support to managers and employees in navigating conflict, performance concerns, and team dynamics.Maintain a proactive approach to fostering positive employee relations across regions.Policy Creation and Implementation :
Develop, implement, and regularly review company policies to align with local, state, federal, and global laws.Update the employee handbook annually to ensure it reflects current legal requirements and company values.Ensure company policies are consistent, enforceable, and communicated effectively across all regions.Ensure policies support the company culture and core values while being adaptable to specific regional or country requirements.Benefits Administration :
Oversee the administration of employee benefits programs (e.g., medical insurance, PTO, 401(k), etc.) and ensure alignment with company values.Manage the 401(k) setup and ensure bi-weekly payroll processing.Monitor the implementation and execution of benefits to ensure proper delivery and accuracy.Payroll and Compliance :
Ensure timely and accurate payroll processing, including ensuring compliance with local tax laws and handling discrepancies.Administer hourly and salaried payrolls, ensuring proper reporting and adherence to state-specific tax laws.Monitor employee records, updating systems (e.g., ADP) for new hires, terminations, and other payroll changes.Oversee the compliance of payroll administration, ensuring all legal requirements and company policies are met.HR Business Strategy :
Collaborate with senior leadership to align HR strategies with business goals and objectives.Champion HR initiatives, ensuring "buy-in" from leadership and employees during policy implementation.Foster a positive company culture that encourages performance, accountability, and alignment with business values.Recruitment and Onboarding :
Oversee the recruitment process for new hires from end-to-end, ensuring effective and efficient talent acquisition aligned with company needs.Approve new hire job offers and ensure smooth onboarding, including IT setup and access to necessary tools and resources.Termination and Offboarding :
Administer termination letters and ensure the proper offboarding of employees from all HR systems (e.g., email, Slack, HRIS, ADP).Ensure return of company equipment and proper handling of any termination-related processes.Conduct exit interviews when appropriate to gather feedback and improve HR processes.Performance Management :
Oversee the performance management process, ensuring all employees receive timely, constructive feedback during quarterly and yearly reviews.Administer employee recognition programs to acknowledge outstanding performance and align recognition efforts with business goals.Global and Local HR Compliance :
Ensure compliance with state, federal, and international labor laws across all regions where the company operates.Stay updated on HR-related legal developments and proactively ensure that company policies reflect these changes.Ensure the HR team is knowledgeable about both local and international HR compliance requirements, especially with respect to payroll, benefits, and employee rights.Team Management and Leadership :
Lead, mentor, and support a team of 9 HR professionals in the U.S, Pakistan, and the Philippines, ensuring high morale, unity, and productivity.Provide guidance and supervision to HR staff, monitoring daily progress and delivering high-level weekly updates.Foster an inclusive, collaborative, and efficient team environment.Ad-hoc Office Management :
Oversee basic office management duties, ensuring the office is stocked with necessary supplies and maintaining a clean, organized working environment.Ensure coordination with the cleaning crew and warehouse assistant to maintain office cleanliness and restocking as needed.Stakeholder and Landlord Communication :
Communicate with the landlord for office-related matters as required, ensuring smooth relationships and resolving any building-related issues efficiently.Required Qualifications :
Bachelor's degree in Human Resources, Business Administration, or related field.Minimum of 7 years of progressive HR experience.Additionally, experience in the Dominican Republic is a plus, as this role will require travel to the DR several times a year to assist in setting up HR operations there.Extensive experience in managing both global and local HR compliance, especially regarding payroll, benefits, and employee relations.Proven experience managing international teams and navigating the complexities of diverse cultural and legal environments.Strong expertise in employee wellbeing, benefits administration, performance management, and policy development.Excellent interpersonal, communication, and conflict-resolution skills.Demonstrated ability to lead, motivate, and manage teams effectively.Experience in handling sensitive HR issues with discretion and confidentiality.Ability to think strategically and adapt to changing business needs.Preferred Qualifications :
Bachelors degree in Human Resources or Business Administration.PHR / SPHR or other relevant HR certifications is a plus.Experience with global HR management in a multi-regional or international company.Experience with Jewish culture and international multicultural workforce management.Core Competencies :
