Associate Attorney - Ski Law

Overview of the Role:

Chalat Hatten & Banker PC is a Tier-1 Plaintiffs’ Personal Injury and Wrongful Death firm. We specialize in ski and snowboard collisions, motor vehicle accidents, premises liability, and professional malpractice litigation.

We are searching for a full-time Associate Attorney. Working alongside partners and independently, you will handle all aspects of client representation from initial consultation through filing suit, taking and defending depositions, appearing in court for hearings and trials (with mentorship) and legal writing and editing.

Core Responsibilities:

• Communicate verbally or in writing with potential new clients to evaluate their needs and decide if their case is a good fit for the practice.
• Oversee pre-litigation case preparation.
• Draft pleadings, prepare and respond to written discovery, conduct motions practice, take and defend depositions, participate in mediation, court hearings, and trials.
• Provide counsel for clients throughout the pendency of their cases.
• Research and writing in support of cases, our websites, and academic/article assignments.

Requirements:

• 1-5 years plaintiffs’ personal injury litigation experience and admitted to the Colorado State and Federal Bars in good standing with no disciplinary history.
• Detail-oriented, reliable, and organized personality with excellent verbal and written communication skills.
• Desire to represent injured people against insurance companies.
• Skiing or snowboarding experience preferred.
• Comfortable working with leading-edge technology.
• Passionate, empathetic, and optimistic team player.

Compensation/Benefits:

• $75,000 - $95,000 base salary plus discretionary performance bonuses
• Hybrid remote/in-office practice (fully in office initially)
