Job Title: ACCOUNTING SPECIALIST
Job Description: This position is responsible for a wide range of accounting tasks, including managing both accounts payable and accounts receivable. Key duties include processing invoices, ensuring accurate coding, and resolving discrepancies with vendors and employees. The role also involves payroll responsibilities such as reviewing timekeeping records and addressing pay issues. Additionally, the position provides support for month-end closing and other projects as needed.
Salary Range: $55,000.00 - $65,000 plus annual target incentive plan
Duties and Responsibilities:
Accounts Payable:
- Responsible for management of A/P inbox.
- Ensure for all PO related invoices that the 3-way match process of gathering the PO, Receiving Approvals and Invoice copy occurs timely and is accurate. Requestor approval as needed on service-related invoices.
- Ensure that all non-PO invoices get timely approvals and that GL accounting coding on invoices is accurate.
- Process and enter all A/P invoices and expense reports into ERP software, including ensuring correct GL Account coding.
- Assist with reconciling vendor statements, including asking vendor for missing invoices we do not have.
Accounts Receivable:
- Responsible for full cycle Accounts Receivable function including managing A/R Inbox, posting of cash and sending invoices and statements
- Reconcile key A/R accounts
- Receive, research and resolve a variety of routine internal and external inquiries concerning account status, including communicating the resolution of discrepancies to appropriate persons
Payroll:
- Review employee time punch edits made by managers to ensure accuracy and consistency
- Help with problem troubleshooting and resolves employee pay discrepancies
- Maintain contact with any vendor to investigate discrepancies, resolve issues
- Manage payroll files and other record keeping
Other duties:
- Assist in the various tasks required for the completion of month-end closing
- Perform other duties and ad hoc projects as assigned
- Assist the accounting controller as needed
Qualifications:
- Education:
- Associate‘s degree in Finance, Accounting, Business Management, or related field
Knowledge and Experience:
- 3 – 5 years in Accounting and/or Finance department in a manufacturing setting
- Knowledge of GAAP
