This position is focused on promoting the Tulsa region to attract companies in targeted industries along with the workforce talent essential to their success, while also encouraging people to visit the Tulsa region. The position involves managing our marketing and PR contract with Development Counsellors International (DCI) and partnering with our Communications and Tourism teams, as well as working directly and supporting the attraction, business retention and expansion (BRE), and talent teams.
PRINCIPAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Promotes the Tulsa region to recruit companies and talent, while leveraging our tourism assets, in partnership with DCI, as well as our marketing and PR firm.
- Develops direct marketing campaigns and marketing materials targeted to site location consultants and businesses in targeted industries.
- Launches and manages a proactive lead generation program utilizing marketing automation and helps build and manage lead database.
- Develops marketing materials in partnership with and to assist business attraction, retention, and expansion and talent teams.
- Works with Economic Development team and community partners on content and to help amplify messaging and success stories.
- Ensures brand and messaging is clear and consistent with a direct call to action.
- Works with the Communications, Creative Services, and Events Department on graphic design of marketing materials and ensures messaging is aligned with Chamber communications.
- Manages DCI contract and ensure goals and deliverables are met and reports are provided.
- Performs other incidental and related duties as required and assigned.
Qualifications
KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS, AND ABILITIES:
- Bachelor’s degree in marketing, communications, or PR.
- At least 5 years of experience at a marketing agency or in a specific marketing role, preferably in economic development or in one of our targeted industries (i.e., manufacturing, aerospace, logistics, IT/tech, energy, or HQ), or as a freelance marketing consultant.
- Strong project management skills are required.
- Experience managing a marketing/PR firm, overseeing day-to-day activities, providing input on strategy and tactics, and ensuring deliverables and reports as determined in contract are completed.
- Experience launching marketing and lead generation campaigns utilizing customer relationship management (CRM) and marketing automation software.
- Experience developing content and managing software for e-newsletters and managed subscriber database.
- Ability to write concisely and develop B2B and talent recruitment marketing materials.
- Experience in economic development industry is a plus.
- Experience in business or talent recruitment is a plus.
- Graphic design experience is a plus.
- Experience developing and managing familiarization (FAM) tours is a plus.
WORK AND PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS:
- Work environment: Normally a typical office environment with people, with minimal exposure to excessive noise or adverse environmental issues, with occasional outdoor exposure to heat, cold, and environmental elements.
- Physical demands: Manipulate, handle, feel, and control items or equipment. Able to read, write, and interpret written documents. Occasionally lift and move objects weighing up to 25 pounds.
