What You Will Be Accountable For
- Manage complex strategic portfolios or multiple programs to achieve business objectives and goals.
- Create, monitor, and update portfolio and program plans, including establishing work plans and assisting with staffing requirements.
- Establish and maintain comprehensive communication plans across cross-functional portfolio teams.
- Provide strategic direction and leadership to cross-functional teams, ensuring alignment on priorities and program benefits.
- Manage program and portfolio scope, budget, and schedule, ensuring progress is on track and within budget.
- Prioritize projects and programs within the portfolio, resolving resource conflicts and optimizing resource allocation.
- Conduct deep financial analysis, including financial forecasting, progress tracking, and identifying key financial risks.
- Deep dive into issue resolution as challenges arise, ensuring swift mitigation and minimal impact to program outcomes.
- Coordinate the development and approval of business and technical requirements documents.
- Proactively identify, assess, and mitigate risks and issues at the portfolio level, escalating when necessary.
- Resolve risks and issues involving multiple senior leaders, driving consensus and resolution.
- Represent the company with contractors, suppliers, business partners, and other external stakeholders as required.
- Lead and mentor Project Managers and Program Managers, providing guidance, support, and performance feedback.
- Monitor, measure, and communicate portfolio status to stakeholders and executive leadership, providing insights and recommendations.
- Adjust portfolio plans and staffing based on evolving business needs and project requirements.
- Bachelor’s degree in Business Administration, Project Management, or a related field.
- 10 years of project management experience, with 5 years in program management and consulting.
- Experience managing global projects in the retail and/or healthcare industry.
- Extensive experience in developing project plans, including charters, scopes, management approaches, financial forecasts, and schedules.
- Proven success in leading cross-functional teams and collaborating with stakeholders at all organizational levels.
- Experience managing program budgets of at least $20 million.
- Strong financial acumen, with the ability to analyze financial data, forecast budgets, and identify risks.
- Exceptional communication, presentation, and organizational skills.
- Strong and effective team leadership skills, with a collaborative approach.
- Solid problem-solving and analytical skills.
- Advanced proficiency in Microsoft Project, Excel, PowerPoint, and Visio.
- Experience with multiple project management methodologies, including Agile and Waterfall.
- Experience establishing and managing Project Management Offices (PMOs) for programs.
- PMP (Project Management Professional) certification.
- Experience with INFORM GroundStar RealTime Staff and Equipment or similar resource management tools.
- General knowledge of IT functions and disciplines related to software deployment and maintenance.
