Maurice Kirby Child Care Center is looking for an Early Head Start Teacher who will play a pivotal role in nurturing the intellectual, emotional, and social growth of their assigned group of children. Join us in fostering a love for learning and shaping the future generation! This position works under the direction of the Site Director in conjunction with the Early Head Start Program.
Work Status: Full time, non-exempt
Work Schedule: Monday - Friday; 7:00am-3:30pm or 7:30am-4:00pm
Pay: From $15.00 per hour with a CDA.
Minimum Qualifications Required:
- At least 18 years old.
- High School Diploma or equivalent.
- Child Development Associate (CDA) or higher degree in Early Childhood Education required.
- Able to pass a fingerprint background check.
- Prior experience working with children in a classroom setting required.
Duties:
- Stays with and supervises all activities of the assigned group of children when on duty, including the supervision of children inside and outside the building, during special events, and during all other activities.
- Plans, directs, and participates in all areas of activities in the classroom directed toward the social, emotional, physical, and cognitive development of children in their care.
- Maintains an orderly classroom.
- Maintains a positive and cooperative relationship with all staff, parents, and volunteers of the agency.
- Is alert to the medical needs of children in their care and appropriately acts on their observations.
- Performs other work-related duties assigned by the Site Director.
