Position Summary
The Assistant Provost of Institutional Effectiveness and Research provides strategic leadership in institutional planning, assessment, accreditation, and data-driven decision-making. This position oversees institutional research, student learning outcomes assessment, and compliance with accreditation and regulatory standards to ensure continuous improvement and mission alignment. The Assistant Provost collaborates with academic and administrative leaders to support evidence-based policy and program development.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities
Institutional Research & Data Analytics:
- Oversee the collection, analysis, and reporting of institutional data to support strategic decision-making and institutional improvement.
- Develop and maintain institutional dashboards and reports to track key performance indicators (KPIs).
- Lead data governance initiatives and ensure compliance with external reporting requirements (e.g., IPEDS, accreditation agencies, state and federal regulations).
Assessment & Accreditation:
- Lead efforts in student learning assessment, program evaluation, and institutional effectiveness to foster a culture of continuous improvement.
- Coordinate accreditation and reaffirmation processes with the accreditation liaison officer, ensuring alignment with regional and programmatic accreditation standards.
- Develop assessment frameworks and methodologies to measure institutional and student success outcomes.
Strategic Planning & Institutional Effectiveness:
- Provide leadership in institutional strategic planning, integrating data analytics and research into decision-making.
- Collaborate with academic and administrative units to develop, implement, and evaluate strategic initiatives.
- Support faculty and staff in utilizing data for curriculum development, enrollment management, and resource allocation.
Collaboration & Leadership:
- Work closely with faculty, staff, and administration to support data-informed policy development and program enhancement.
- Serve as an institutional representative on committees and task forces related to research, assessment, and accreditation.
- Provide training and workshops on data literacy, assessment best practices, and institutional effectiveness.

Qualifications
Required Education & Experience:
- Earned doctorate from an accredited institution in a relevant field (e.g., higher education, educational research, data analytics, social sciences). Master’s degree candidates with extensive experience will be considered.
- At least five years of experience in institutional research, assessment, accreditation, or related areas within higher education.
- Demonstrated expertise in data analysis, assessment methodologies, and institutional effectiveness.
- Experience with accreditation processes and compliance reporting.
- Strong leadership, communication, and collaboration skills.
- Proficiency in statistical analysis tools (e.g., SPSS, SAS, R) and data visualization software (e.g., Tableau, Power BI).
Preferred Experience:
- Experience with predictive analytics and data-informed decision-making models.
- Knowledge of student success initiatives and institutional equity frameworks.
- Familiarity with state and federal regulations affecting higher education data reporting.
- One (1) year experience in SQL programming
Knowledge and Skills:
- Collaborate effectively with stakeholders and others within the University
- Ability to present complex material orally and in writing
- Experience in survey design, administration, and analysis and reporting of data
- Maintain independence and integrity in analysis, forecasting and subsequent reporting of analysis of data to stakeholders
- Organize and coordinate multiple projects with moderate to high levels complexity at the same time
