What are the responsibilities and job description for the Family Advocate- Early Childhood Education position at Champaign County Regional Planning Commission?
RPC's Early Childhood Education Center is currently seeking a Family Advocate to join our TEAM! This position provides family support and child health services to families with children from birth to 5 years-old. Champaign County RPC is a people-focused agency made up of over 100 programs designed to generate possibilities for all within our community. A great deal of planning goes into creating opportunities where people can succeed on their own, and RPC is doing that work. Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree in Social Services or Human Development required or Bachelor’s degree in a related field with 2 years of Case Management experience.
- Ability to fulfill DCFS requirements for personnel, including a physical exam, immunizations and a criminal record check
- Ability to engage families in services for themselves and their child, maintain records of services provided, and support family-identified goals
- Experience working with a population
- Basic computer competency
- Valid driver’s license
- Ability to travel to home visits, trainings and meetings.
- Ability to lift children up to 60 pounds in an emergency.
- Bilingual (English/Spanish) a plus.
- Prior experience with working with children in an early childhood program is preferred. Applicants with prior early childhood experience will be given priority within the applicant process.

Starting Hourly Wage:
$19.45 - $20.47 (Family Advocate Credential)
$20.47 - $21.50 (AA)
$22.73 - $23.75 (BA)
$24.46 - $25.48 (MA)
DOQ (Depending on Qualifications)
