Job Title: Team Lead
Reports To: Department Supervisor
Shift/Schedule: First Shift; Monday β Friday with occasional Saturday; must be flexible with start and end times
SUMMARY OF POSITION
Monitors and coordinates departmental activities in accordance with objectives set by departmental supervisor and management team. Duties may include, mentoring and providing for on-the-job training of team members, prioritizing workload and providing assignments to team members in furtherance of departmental goals, ensuring Company policies and procedures are adhered to with an emphasis on Safety and Quality control.
PRINCIPAL ACCOUNTABILITIES/COMPETENCIES
- Assists departmental supervisor in creation and execution of departmental objectives in alignment with Company business plan & forecast.
- Supports completion of operational objectives by collaborating with departmental supervisor regarding employee scheduling, work assignments, and expected results. Monitors progress and coordinates with departmental supervisor to revise plans and mitigate risks as necessary.
- Maintains thorough knowledge of processes and equipment for assigned departments with capability to mentor and train fellow team members.
- Capable and willing to assist team members with troubleshooting of minor system, equipment and setup issues. Supports escalation as necessary.
- May collaborate with external departments to ensure adherence to operational schedules and mitigate scheduling risks
- Escalates process, equipment, and personnel issues to departmental supervisor
- Ensures team members operate in accordance with Company processes and procedures reinforcing sound Safety, Quality, and 5S practices at all times.
- Acts as primary backup for departmental supervisor when supervisor is unavailable or out of office.
- Provides/Presents status reports to Company personnel regularly including M/W/F standup presentations
EDUCATION/EXPERIENCE
- Associates Degree Preferred
- Two to Five years' experience in a manufacturing environment
- Strong communication and leadership skills
- Ability to work under time constraints
- Strong process improvement and problem solving skills
- Bias towards action
- Open and honest communicator
- Gathering department data, preparing presentations and speaking publicly
- Take ownership for their performance and for their team's performance
- Results oriented
