The Logistics Coordinator is responsible for overseeing warehouse operations, ensuring efficient material movement, and supporting production and shipping processes. This role involves planning, organizing, and supervising the receipt, storage, staging, and shipment of goods while maintaining accuracy and efficiency in inventory management.

 

Requirements

  

Performance Monitoring & Reporting:

  • Develop performance measurement systems to evaluate OCs’ freight rates, on-time pick-ups, on-time deliveries, damage-in-shipping frequencies, and freight claims recovery ratios.
  • Generate reports on freight costs as a percentage of shipment value, categorized by weight, dimensions, and shipping distance.
  • Report key logistics activities and operational issues to management.

Warehouse & Inventory Management:

  • Implement Return Merchandise Authorization (RMA) processes upon receipt.
  • Ensure accurate completion of the receiving process in the MRP system.
  • Manage stock inventory transfers and determine maximum product load for full containers.
  • Prepare, package, and ship trade show materials and coordinate demo stock distribution nationwide.

Shipping & Freight Coordination:

  • Coordinate international shipments with Customer Service and container carriers.
  • Utilize customer-designated carriers and oversee shipments requiring special packaging and handling (e.g., moving companies).
  • Arrange reroutes, recoveries, redeliveries, and hot-shot shipments.
  • Track deliveries and provide shipment status updates.

Claims, Invoicing & Compliance:

  • Document and research freight claims.
  • Support Accounts Receivables by tracking freight charges and requesting additional invoicing.
  • Assist Accounts Payables by retrieving back-up documentation and processing payment approvals.
  • Ensure compliance with international shipping regulations, including export control and import customs documentation.
  • Manage Hawaii and Alaska routing logistics.

Process Improvement & Leadership:

  • Develop and implement Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs).
  • Lead by example, promoting integrity, teamwork, and consistent decision-making.
  • Work independently while prioritizing tasks and achieving goals.
  • Identify and implement continuous improvement initiatives.
  • Foster strong working relationships with team members and cross-functional departments.

Trade Compliance & Special Projects:

  • Provide International White Glove quoting for specialized shipments.
  • Ensure compliance with trade regulations and industry best practices.

Required Education/Experience/Skills:

  • Associate degree in supply chain, logistics, or a related field, or a minimum of 3 years of relevant experience.
  • Experience managing small package shipments (UPS, FedEx, Parcel).
  • Strong knowledge of shipping procedures and logistics operations.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office, including Excel.
  • Strong problem-solving abilities and attention to detail.
  • International shipping experience is required.

Physical Demands:

  • Ability to work in a non-climate-controlled environment.
  • Must regularly lift and move up to 50 lbs. and occasionally up to 90 lbs.
  • Required vision abilities: close vision, distance vision, peripheral vision, depth perception, and focus adjustment.
