Here’s the scoop - Summary
The Vice President of Marketing Strategy & Deployment is responsible for overseeing the development, implementation, and optimization of comprehensive market strategies for the United States and Canada to drive brand growth, customer engagement, and market share. This role requires a mix of leadership, commercial creativity, and analytical expertise to lead cross-functional teams and optimize Champion Petfoods growth strategies across various channels and touchpoints.
You will analyze market trends, customer insights, and competitive data to develop impactful growth plans that deliver measurable results.
Ultimately, this role delivers to our compelling purpose – “better world for pets”.
This position will be located in Boulder, CO or Nashville, TN and works a hybrid schedule between in office and working from a home-based office. This role also requires occasional travel to other Champion locations.
What a typical day looks like
- Develop comprehensive market growth strategies that align with the company’s overall vision and goals.
- Translate and deploy into customer commercial plans.
- Strategic co-pilot to the Chief Customer Officer; orchestrates both short and long-term planning, including performance management via S&OP, annual Flywheel, AEP, etc.
- Deploys global marketing plans by region and customer.
- Provide direction and collaborate with brand experience, shopper, digital, and category teams to optimize plan performance.
- Category leadership including trade optimization.
- Brand Experience & Advocacy; translate and deploy into locally relevant trade, customer activity and local market key opinion leaders.
- Shopper Marketing; lead customized plans and tactics with key strategic accounts.
- Forecasting Management; at macro and customer levels “short and long term”.
- Digital deployment - deploy digital toolkits to activate local social and influencer tactics.
- Brand Protection – lead brand protection to track and enforce map policies.
- Lead a comprehensive commercial strategy team of “X” Associates.
What you'll bring
- Bachelor’s degree in marketing, business, or a related field is required. MBA preferred.
- 10 years of experience demand leadership with at least 5-7 years in a senior leadership within the CPG industry.
- Demonstrated experience developing and executing integrated growth strategies with measurable success.
- Strong analytical mindset to assess performance and make data-driven optimizations.
- A people person skilled in networking within the company, building relationships, and driving change through influence rather than authority.
- Excellent communication skills, adept at structuring documents and quantitative analyses, as well as creating PowerPoint presentations for executive-level communication.
- Experienced in leading and coaching teams.
