Manufacturing Controller

Overview

Great Day Improvements/Champion Window - Manufacturing Controller, based on site at our Manufacturing Facility / Corporate Headquarters in Sharonville, OH.

As the Manufacturing Controller, you will be responsible for partnering with executive leadership to drive comprehensive understanding of cost performance and planning at a significant manufacturing facility that is best in class in their industry. You will drive forecasted cost modeling allowing for strategic planning on capacity, make vs buy scenarios, and manufacturing footprint alignment. You will be both a strategic thinker and an individual tactical contributor comfortable with influencing and educating multiple levels within the organization to achieve results. Manufacturing Controller will provide partnership, alignment, and support to: VP-Manufacturing and The Manufacturing Team; The Corporate Controller and Finance Team; and will be driving performance review and delivering recommendations for cost optimization strategies.

Responsibilities

• Prepare and present monthly costing KPI’s from the manufacturing facilities including but not limited to: variances in spend, labor efficiencies, material variances, and cost of goods produced
• Work directly with the Corporate Controllership as the key financial liaison to plant operations in completion of the monthly financial close
• Understand and present monthly manufacturing variances in a manner which enables clear understanding, leading to driving performance improvements
• Review monthly spend to budget, providing analytics and insight into deviations.
• Utilize data mining techniques to research, model, and generate “what if” scenarios on facilities, production transfers, and component make / buy decisions.
• Identify and drive common costing structure between the plant and internal customers
• Assist in annual budget and quarterly forecast process
• Build and maintain forecasted labor and overhead rates to be used in strategic planning
• Identify issues with system transactions creating variances and work with Operations team to implement corrective actions.
• Refinement of core transactional processes both in and out of the ERP system to drive efficiency
  
  

Qualifications

Minimum Qualifications:

• Bachelor’s Degree in Accounting or Finance or related field
• 5 years’ experience working in a manufacturing facility or similar environment
• 2 years of ERP/MRP experience
  
  

Preferred Qualifications

• Microsoft D365 F&O and BI experience
• Cost accounting experience
• Experience working for a multi-line manufacturing company of at least $75M
• Experience with standard costing and manufacturing variance analytics
