The Maintenance Tech position performs ongoing hotel maintenance and completes repairs on equipment. Their duties include fixing machinery, painting, plumbing, heating and wiring.
\n- Respond and attend to guest repair requests
- Perform preventive maintenance on tools and equipment, including cleaning and lubrication
- Repair machines, equipment, or structure, using tools such as hammers, hoists, saws, drills, wrenches, or equipment such as precision measuring instruments or electrical or electronic testing devices
- Identify, locate, and operate all shut-off valves for equipment and shut-offs for buildings
- Assure each day’s activities and problems that occur are communicated to the other shifts using approved communication programs and standards
- Perform routine maintenance around the building such as fixing structural damage, for example, window, door or wall repair
- Troubleshoot and perform basic repair on all types of equipment (e.g., pump and motor replacement), plumbing (e.g., plunge toilets and unclog drains), electrical equipment including lamps, cosmetic items, extension cords, vacuum cleaners, internet devices, replace electrical switches and outlets, and other guest room items
- Program televisions and perform general housekeeping and engineering-related duties
- Assist with surface preparation and painting, minor drywall and wood trim repair, light bulb and A/C filter replacement and the complete and thorough clean-up of the painting or repair area
- Use the Lockout/Tagout system before performing any maintenance work
- Fix potential safety hazards to avoid any injuries Vacuuming and cleaning carpets and rugs
- Assists in keeping the lobby area clean, neat and free of debris and trash as needed.
- Help the room attendants with heavy lifting and special cleaning projects as directed.
- Clean all public areas in the prescribed manner while following department standard operating procedures.
- Emptying trash receptacles and disposing of waste
- Assist housekeeping with placing bed boards and roll-ways beds in appropriate fashion per standard operating procedures.
- Reports missing / found articles, damage or merchandise problems to the housekeeping supervisor and managers.
- Responds at all times in a friendly, helpful manner to guests and other colleagues.
- Other duties, responsibilities, and requirements may be assigned as necessary
- High school diploma or equivalent
- Must be 18 years or older
- One year of experience in a hotel
- Licensed in a trade is a plus
- Display solid knowledge and skill in the safe use of hand and power tools and other materials required to perform repair and maintenance tasks
- Ability to solve problems, reliability, and excellent organizational skills are required
- Work the overnight shift from 11pm-7am, including weekends and holidays
- Ability to adhere to all company policies and the code of conduct
