TITLE AND CLASSIFICATION: Senior Scientist, Functional Genomics
PRIMARY OBJECTIVES:
We are currently seeking a highly motivated and experienced scientist to join our team as a Senior Scientist, functional genomics to work in our Rockville, MD lab. As a Senior Scientist, you will be responsible for contributing to the development and application of functional genomics strategies to support drug discovery and development.
DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

Establish and characterize ex vivo cultured tumors.

Perform large scale functional genomic screens.
Qualifications
KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS, AND ABILITIES
- In-depth knowledge of and experience with modern molecular and cellular biology techniques, preferably experience performing functional genomics.
- A solid background in human genetics.
EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE
- PhD and/or 0-2 years of relevant experience in functional genomics and/or molecular genetics
PHYSICAL DEMANDS AND WORK ENVIRONMENT
- Must be able to sit and use hands to finger, handle and feel.
- Must be able to lift and move packages weighing up to 50 pounds.
- Must be able to sit for long periods of time using a computer in a typical office environment in a multi-level facility.
- Some activities require repetitive motion and reaching, pulling or pushing.
- In carrying out the duties of the job there will be frequent exposure to fumes and chemical hazards.
- Duties performed routinely require exposure to blood, body fluid and tissue.

Salary : $100,000 - $120,000
