TITLE AND CLASSIFICATION: Vice President, Functional Genomics

PRIMARY OBJECTIVES:

We are currently seeking a highly motivated and experienced scientist to join our team as a Vice President, Functional Genomics to work in our Cambridge, MA labs. As a Vice President you will be responsible for building and leading development and application of functional genomics strategies to support drug discovery and development.

DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

• Oversee a team of scientists establishing a Functional Genomics and PerturbSeq dataset
• Develop a premier functional genomics platform from Champions Tumor bank.
• Execute large scale functional genomic screens.
• Mentor and lead junior scientists.

Qualifications

KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS, AND ABILITIES

• In-depth knowledge of and experience with modern molecular and cellular biology techniques, preferably experience performing functional genomics.
• Experience project-managing out-sourced work with CROs.
• A solid background in human genetics.

EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE

• PhD and/or 5-10 years of relevant experience in functional genomics and/or molecular genetics

PHYSICAL DEMANDS AND WORK ENVIRONMENT

• Must be able to sit and use hands to finger, handle and feel.
• Must be able to lift and move packages weighing up to 50 pounds.
• Must be able to sit for long periods of time using a computer in a typical office environment in a multi-level facility.
• Some activities require repetitive motion and reaching, pulling or pushing.
• In carrying out the duties of the job there will be frequent exposure to fumes and chemical hazards.
• Duties performed routinely require exposure to blood, body fluid and tissue.

Salary : $170,000 - $180,000
