We are excited to announce the opening of a new position at Lake Champlain Chocolates and the expansion of our IT team!  We are looking for an IT Systems Analyst who will play a critical role in analyzing and enhancing our enterprise systems.

 

POSITION PURPOSE – WHAT YOU WILL DO

As the IT Systems Analyst with Lake Champlain Chocolates, you will ensure that systems are supported in a way that furthers the company’s continued operations and strategic goals. You’ll provide administration, integration, and optimization of the Company’s enterprise applications while also performing traditional system administration duties, reporting/analytics, and managing IT-related projects. This role is critical to ensuring seamless operations, automating processes, and aligning technology solutions with business objectives. LCC operates three business segments: wholesale/manufacturing, ecommerce and four retail stores. This position reports directly to the company’s IT Manager. 

 

THE WHEN AND WHERE

Your regular schedule will be 40 hours per week, Monday through Friday – in our clean, vibrant, and safe office in Williston, Vermont, with occasional travel to our retail stores.  Limited evening or weekend work may be required to ensure the most system availability for users or to support project initiatives.  We value your health and wellness, so we offer many programs to keep employees healthy and engaged and recognize them for the important work that they do.

 

YOUR RESPONSIBILITIES AND CONTRIBUTIONS

APPLICATION MANAGEMENT

  • Leads the administration and development of the company's enterprise systems (i.e. Syspro, CounterPoint, BigCommerce, ShipStation, MicroMain, Alchemer) and other programs or systems that support the business segments, allowing for seamless daily operations.
  • Establishes & maintains relationships with internal & external stakeholders to ensure technology solutions are meeting current business needs.
  • Collaborates with team members to analyze system requirements and document processes.
  • Trains users in new systems or processes and provides ongoing support, ensuring smooth adoption.
  • Ensures compliance with PCI, food safety regulations and traceability requirements.
  • Ensures data stewardship by helping lead and participate in Provides direction and support to team leaders.

 

PROCESS IMPROVEMENT & REPORTING

  • Examines and evaluates LCC’s current IT systems to identify inefficiencies and areas for improvement.
  • Generates customer/product analytics and reports for internal stakeholders for data-driven decision-making.
  • Documents and implements best practices, policies, and procedures for application and system usage.
  • Collaborates with other departments to design & implement system changes to improve system functionality. 
  • Institutes strong project management, quality assurance and other best practices to maximize LCC investments in people and systems.

 

PROJECT MANAGEMENT

  • Manages application lifecycle planning, enhancements and upgrades.
  • Develops and executes detailed project plans for system changes and installations. Ensures plans are effectively communicated to project stakeholders.
  • Acts as a liaison between IT and other departments, translating business needs into technical solutions.

  • Users are well supported. Software issues are carefully reviewed and promptly resolved.
  • Professional business relations exist with users and outside vendors.
  • Supervisor is kept up to date on system issues and is notified immediately of significant problems.
  • Technology, industry and business trends are kept up on to ensure appropriate technologies are being considered to meet organizational requirements.
  • Effective & timely communication exists with those who need to know.

 

QUALIFICATIONS

EDUCATION AND KNOWLEDGE REQUIRED:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Systems or a related field.
  • A minimum of 5 years of experience in enterprise application management and process improvement, or a similar role.
  • Proficiency with Office 365 Suite; including but not limited to Teams, SharePoint, Planner, Excel, PowerPoint, Word, Access, and Outlook.
  • Experience with data importing, exporting and other integration points.

 

PLUSSES:

  • Experience working with B2C eCommerce website, retail POS, CRM, and database management.
  • Experience with reporting tools such as Access, SQL queries/views; modifying, configuring & creating reports, crystal reports.

  • Effective speaking, presentation, and written communication skills.
  • Able to give, receive, and act on feedback.
  • Proficiency in copier, computer, telephone, and other basic office equipment.
  • Must be able to exert up to 30 lbs. of force frequently and up to 10 lbs. constantly.
