Champlain Spine and Pain Management is seeking a full-time Workers' Compensation Specialist to join our team! We are looking for an enthusiastic team player with the ability to multi-task, and work efficiently as well as independently.
Essential Job Responsibilities:
- To adhere to and support the mission, vision, values, goals, philosophy, objectives, policies, and procedures of Champlain Spine and Pain Management
- Contact insurance carriers to verify the patient’s claim status, benefits, and requirements
- Request, track and obtain pre-authorization from insurance carriers within the time allotted (procedures, imaging, medication, etc.)
- Ensures that all office notes are audited and submitted to the Workers Compensation Board/insurance carrier
- Coordinate schedules for services
- Demonstrate and apply medical terminology knowledge, high proficiency in general medical office procedures, including HIPAA regulations
- Receive incoming phone calls
- Communicate any insurance changes or trends among the team
- Receive and report on assignments from professional staff
- Communicate changes in schedule to the appropriate staff member(s)
- Attend required meetings and in-services
- Other duties as assigned
MACHINES, TOOLS, EQUIPMENT, AND WORK AIDS
Working knowledge of all office machines, including telephone system, copy machine, facsimile machine, and word processing software.

PHYSICAL DEMANDS AND WORKING CONDITIONS
Heavy lifting of up to 100 pounds with assistance and 50 pounds without assistance. Considerable stooping, pushing, and pulling.

1. Reports to the Manager and/or Supervisor
2. Communicate and coordinate with all staff
QUALIFICATIONS
- High School graduate
- Ability to operate a computer
- One year of experience in the medical field preferred
