Opening for a Cheesemaker
We are looking for a part-time cheesemaker (30-35 hours per week) at our family-owned, certified organic, grass-fed, net-zero creamery located in Middlebury. Applicants must be reliable, have attention to detail, have reliable transportation, be able to lift 50 lbs and work in a physically demanding setting. Tuesday through Saturday shifts required with some flexibility. Some prior food production experience preferred. Offering competitive wages, retirement savings plan and some paid time off.
Responsibilities
- Operate and maintain cheese-making equipment to ensure optimal production quality.
- Follow sanitation protocols to maintain a clean and safe working environment.
- Monitor food processing stages to ensure compliance with HACCP and CGMP standards.
- Assist in packaging finished products while adhering to food safety regulations.
- Collaborate with team members to optimize food production processes and resolve mechanical issues.
- Conduct regular inspections of equipment and facilities to uphold high sanitation standards.
Job Type: Part-time
Pay: $17.00 - $20.00 per hour
Expected hours: 30 – 35 per week
