Cortland, New York agricultural and light industrial equipment business headquartered in Vermont seeking full-time Outside Construction/Agricultural equipment salesperson to create, develop, and maintain relationships with our outside customers: primarily farmers, municipalities, and those in the construction industry. Duties include, but are not limited to, promoting and selling agricultural, light construction, and other miscellaneous equipment. Our outside Construction/Agricultural equipment sales staff represent the whole company and our brand in prominent and significant settings.

Tasks
- Contact regular and prospective customers to demonstrate products, explain product features, and solicit orders.
- Recommend, select, and help locate or obtain merchandise based on customer needs and desires.
- Answer customers' questions about products, prices, availability, product uses, and credit terms.
- Estimate or quote prices, credit or contract terms, warranties, and delivery dates.
- Consult with clients after sales or contract signings to resolve problems or provide ongoing support.
- Identify prospective customers by using business directories, following leads from existing clients, participating in organizations and clubs, and attending trade shows and conferences.
- Make cold calls on the road to current and prospective customers.
- Monitor market conditions, product innovations, and competitors' products, prices, and sales.
- Perform administrative duties, such as preparing sales budgets and reports, keeping sales records, and filing expense account reports.
- Obtain credit information about prospective customers.
- Train customers' employees to operate and maintain new equipment, as needed.
- Prepare sales contracts and order forms, negotiate details of contracts and payments, and maintain records related to sales.
- Attend training as required and requested by vendors and CVE.
- Coordinate equipment set-up and deliveries of retail equipment with service department(s).
- Keep work area and vehicle neat and professional. Clean and maintain assigned company vehicle as needed.
- Maintain daily call log along with vehicle mileage.
